Problems with the Search function.

There seems to be a problem with the search function. For some reason you are not allowed to search words that are less than 3 characters long. For example, you cannot search the word "TV". Yeah, I know that I could use the word Television, but most people don't use the full word in their posts. Another example, you couldn't search for AOF 2 or Fatal Fury 2. Even if worded as Fatal Fury II, "II" is still less than three characters so it won't work. Is this problem new or has it always been like this?

If I remember well I've had this problem at least since the update. I think is more of a limitation of the search engine.

I have the same problem when using the search engine..


Making it very aggravating to use...

It is not a 'problem,' it is a restriction. Recommended setting is no less than 4, I did 3, and there is no way we would do 2, because that will most likely break search totally, and if we do a refresh on it, will make the creation of the search database take WAY too long. It would have to look at each post for EVERY 'if it is we us do II IV' etc etc....

Search database can only be rebuilt with the board offline, which most likely will next happen when we upgrade to VB3, probably in the next few months.

So if I try to search some info regarding "Neo CD".........

I hate this restriction........
