So far I've nailed it down to 3 consoles:

Neo-Geo,
Sega Saturn,
NEC PC-FX.

Which of these would offer the best puzzler / comic games with lots of Anime that I could get into and understand as an English speaker?

In particular real colorful and cute puzzle games and heavy Japanese influence while still being playable.

What do you think?

The NEC PC-FX has aproximately 100% anime games, but if you don't know japanese, you will understand nothing.

You should pick the Sega Saturn.

How many Japanese Saturn games fit my criteria - (still being playable without heavy faqs)...

Looking for cutesy puzzlers like Money Puzzle Exchanger, Magical Drop... And menu driven games..

I don't like platformers..... but if their is something I really should get let me know too

I would say a lot... haha, I don't know the exact number.

More than Neo-Geo, that is a fact. Still, Neo-Geo *cutesy/puzzle* games are always "lighter", because they are designed for arcade play.

Definitely not 100% anime games, but the FX is probably the anime fan's system of choice.

Best reason to buy an FX is for Kokuu Hyouryou Nirgends, one of the best RPGs ever crafted.

Not considerd the PC Engine???

Out of that list it would be Saturn for me, I still rekon you should scope out the PCE, especially if you dig anime cut scenes.

With One Piece and Naruto on GC, it might even top my...uh...one anime based game on my SNES (Ranma1/2)

You should cut your playing time in half and use that other half of time to learn Japanese, then you won't have a problem.

Grab the PC FX, but don't leave out the PC Engine, especially the CD games.
