A friend of mine has one...it's sweet...the screen is nice and surfing the web is wicked on it. The sites are the same as it is on your home PC...

The phone is nice, it can browse a lot of web sites most phones can't. Drawbacks though include: lack of Java and bulky.

I have a Nokia 6800 myself:

Has limited internet functionality, but is a bit smaller.

Both are excellent phones, with the edge to the sidekick for expanded internet use.

thats a sweet looking phone too ..dam im a have to think this over how much is it for that one?

I got it for 50 (200-150) bucks after rebates with AT&T wireless, but I'm not sure if the deal is still on or not.

I have a Sidekick and like it for the most part but the GSM radio is shit, Wednesday my T-Mobile Pocket PC phone will be in which I am sure I will like more.

I am always on AIM with it, pretty much everyone who has IMed me lately has noticed my very long delays because I am using it at work.

Pros:

Great all in one communications device
Full internet access
AIM
E-mail
LED Football

Cons:
Ringtone support (T-Mobile locked out using WAVS and Midis as ringtones)
Webpages are somewhat altered
No MP3 playback
LED Football and an Asteroids ripoff are the only games available
AOL E-mail is slow as shit

Will do a comparison with the Pocket PC Phone by Friday.

One more advantage the Sidekick has is a camera option but the wireless LAN and Pocket PC 2002 flexibility has be going to the PC Phone.

I'm a cell phone whore..

My pics for value and features is the Ericsson T616/610. This phone has tons of features including a decent camera, nice ringtones(32 cord) and a very nice display. It also has bluetooth with rocks on so many levels. You can use bluetooth with a wireless headset and it makes sending ringtones, games, apps and pictures to and from the computer very simple.

Right now its the biggest bang for the buck.

Now the differences between T610 and T616 are that the 610 is using 900/1800/1900 frequency while the 616 uses 800/1800/1900. If you go with T-Mobile you can get the 610 which is better because the 900 frequency is used all over the world which does not hold true for the 616 and its 800 frequency.

I personally have the T616 because I have AT&T and that's the model they carry and same with Cingular. T-Moblie is the only one that has the T610.

Both phones are identical except for that.

The PC Phone runs around $399 which for what it is, that's a pretty good deal.

Im sure with PCMCIA and SD card expandability there will be many other useful things you will be able to do down the line.

Remember it's running Windows Pocket so the options are virtually limitless.

Ok well got my new Pocket PC phone and so far it completley owns the Sidekick on so many levels.

First the sound quality is much improved, also the hands free stereo kit is amazing.

You can use wav files as ringtones and is also a voice recorder. GPRS (wireless internet) is just as slow but that will change if/when T-Mobile switches over to EDGE.

Now as a pocket pc this thing rocks, I mostly have been using it for teh romz and loving it.

I have a multi emu on it that plays SNES, NES, Genesis, Master System/Gamegear, Gameboy, GBA, and TG-16 roms on it.

There is nothing better than playing Bomberman 94 while on the go.

The emu that I am using allows for custom buttons and also has an on screen controller for those without enough buttons. I have my screen roatated to a widescreen mode like the NGPC and GBA. I only have access to 3 buttons there so haven't tried SNES or GBA games on it yet and probably never will.

Overall as a rom machine this thing has the capabilities to play all the great classics but I was unable to get MAME working on it yet due to being unable to configure the buttons.

The MP3 playback is superb as well, comes with Windows Media Player 9 out of the box and supports all the formats for it as well.

Once I get a bigger memory card I am going to try the DVD to Pocket PC software to see how it works, as well as trying out the pocket versions of Everquest, Age of Empires, and Rayman.

Take this for what it's worth, but cnn just ranked 5 cell phone providers by the number of complaints against them, and t-mobile was number 3 on that list, with AT&T being #1. The provider with the least ammount of complaints was verizon.

Trust me I know that more than anyone, I have been getting fucked by customer "care" ever since I got service with them, now I don't have a voice plan because I was lied to by my sales person and the reps when I bought this phone.

I have them on speaker as I type this, now I just found out I don't have insurance on a $400 phone, I could get it on my Sidekick but not a more expensive phone...WTF?

Sorry to hear that. I have verizon and one of those silver samsung phones with the blue screens that you see everyone with these days, and I couldn't be happier with my service and phone.

Well my deal with T-Mobile is resolved..talked to this manager Amer..told her I work at Cingular and I know what they can accompolish and she fixed it in one nice call.

As far as getting a sidekick goes, man you are really better off spending the extra $100 on this pice of beautiful equipment.

I just learned how great the speakerphone is when trying to type something and not having to worry about my hands free getting tangled.

Overall I am way more satisfied with this over my Sidekick.

If you want a general phone with internet features and AIM get the SK but if you want a full blown mini pc with which you can play all your favorite console games, synch with MS Outlook, Exchange server, and thousands of different pieces of software then get the Pocket PC..seriously T-Mobile has the best plans as far as data goes...unlimited for $19.99 with any voice plan...just getting it is the problem but bitch enough and everything will get taken care of.

I can get you a Sidekick or any other T-Mobile phone...my sister is an agent.

I had Sprint PCS for a few years and didn't like it at all. Switched to Verizon two years ago, and its been great. About to get my "new every two" phone, $100 off the lowest price of any phone offered. Looking at the Motorolas and LG phones so far, and right now the LGs look like a better deal for the money (and nice phones too).

Motorola has really went down in quality.

They use the weakest speakers and you can't hear shit with them.

I have had 2 V.60's and tried the new V 400 and it's crap.

Stick with the LG, they are some of the best out there right now...right behind Samsung and about tied with Nokia in terms of general quality.
