I wonder if my Gamecube is going the way of the dodo. Things that have lead me to believe so:

1: When I play Eternal Darkness, the audio and video skip A LOT during the cutscenes only. I checked the disc, it's in perfect shape.

2: When I play LOTR: Return of the King, the video skips A LOT during the cutscenes but the audio is still fine, once again the disc is in excellent condition.

Any suggestions?

I had the same problem, it needs the lens clean, just find one of the canned air you'd see at a local electronics store, should fix it quickly

Eternal Darkness is the only game my GC has ever seemed t have a hard time with. Same problem, mind you. If mine gets annoyingly bad, I'd clean the lens, as should you.

Noooooo.... GOD no. Don't use air. That will make specks of dust act as a projectile and can scratch the lense. Just use a cotton swab with a bit of rubbing alcohol. Make a circular motion on the lense for about 30 seconds and let it dry off.

Better yet, get some optical cleaner. Rubbing alcohol is actually not good for use on electronics.
