I haven't seen that many, but I was watching The Good, Bad, and Ugly yesterday, and even with it's flaws, I still consider it the best western ever made.

Anybody have anything to add to this?

Was A Fistfull of Dollars Italian made? I really like that one.

Sorry, I don't know much about Westerns. I mostly like Clint Eastwood's movies. I think he could play a hair stylist and make it seem bad ass.

yes, I believe Fist Full of Dollars was a Sergio Leone film, so it qualifies as a Spaghetti Western.

Good film also, I have to see that again sometime (been a loooooooong while).

edit: I posted by mistake, DOH!

I was exposed to countless American made Westerns as a young kid. My mom used to be a huge fan of the genre. The problem is, I never knew what they were called! I would always walk in the room to find mom watching one on TV, so I would just sit down and watch it too, or I would happen to be in the same room, so I would half way pay attention.

I don't know how many Westerns John Wayne made, but I'm willing to bet I've seen most, if not all of them.

Have you seen They Call Me Trinity I've been recommended this title quite a few times and I was wondering if you've ever seen it?

Yeah, I've seen it. It's a trilogy of Spaghetti Western Comedies, they're fun to watch, but it's shit compared to the serious stuff.

In the series is...

#1> Boot Hill
#2> They Call Me Trinity
#3> Trinity Is Still My Name

and then an offish entry called "The Sons of Trinity".

Personally I'd stay away from them, but it's worth a look. The films were made towards the end of the Spaghetti Western BOOM, but KEOMA made in 1975 made people take one last serious look. ---Johnathan of the Bears was a loosely based follow up to KEOMA done in 1987 with Franco Nero.

Some others I forgot to mention however...

Texas Adios!
Companeros
A Bullet For The General
THE MERCENARY
A Man Called Sledge
God's Gun (AKA: "A Bullet from GOD")
Run Man Run

Hope this helps you out a bit Roker

The regular most wel known ones are still the best.

The other day I was watching Open Range, which is quite recent I think. To my surprise it was good ! So in case you want to see a new Western, check that one out !

They are releasing a new DVD special edition of the good, the bad amd the ugly in May. Its going to have some old footage restored with new voice from Eli Walach and Clint. As well as restored soundtrack (yessss) and anamorphic widescreen. It sounds awesome.

I have the "Man with No Name Trilogy" boxset released in USA, with "For a fistful of dollars", "For a few dollars more" and "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly". This last movie included some scenes deleted from the original Italian version, but they are only in its original language (Italian).

By the way, this three movies are a coproduction between Germany, Italy and Spain. They were filmed in the desert of Almeria, Spain.
