It's really really slow to type messages in for a reply. Doesn't happen in the quick replies for PM's though. Donno why, if someone has an unnofficial release of Safari above 1.1.1 please lemme know.

Yes, I'm running the same thing and the response time is very slow.
Also, chat crashes everytime I access it with Safari.:help:

In my case, I think the slowdown is caused by the large number of animated gifs that are displayed on the post-a-reply page.

About the chat :

The chat may work for a while before failing sometimes. You could try checking the software update to see if a new version of Java is available, java updates seem to help a bit (but still doesn't fix the problem yet). If you really want to chat on this site, then I suggest IE.

This is exactly what the problem is. So, I use Internet Explorer for NG.com and Safari for everything else. Sucks but it does work. Most likely it'll all get better as Safari gets out of version 1.x

I wonder if this is an X.3 problem - I'm running Safari on the last release of 10.2 (still haven't upgraded), and I don't have any problems, though I've never used chat.

I'm running 10.2.8 and I do get these problems.

Although, I am running it on an officially unsupported Mac, which may cause/aggrivate some of the problems.

Here's a little band-aid that I came up with for this :

You can try making the Reply page window smaller, and/or scroll, so that the animated gifs are hidden. I've noticed that this speeds things up a bit (for me at least).
