Crossed Swords w/o memory

Quick question. I'm thinking about buying Crossed Swords this week end. But I don't have a memory card. Is a memory card basically required to play this game if you want to really get anwhere. I should I just buy Samurai Showdown 2 instead.

It's not ABSOLUTELY needed, but highly recommended. This is a very tough game, especially as you get into the later parts of the game.

You won't go wrong with SSII either.

You don't need memory card but I'm afraid you won't be able to pass level 2 (or level 1).

You only have 2 continues (if I remember correctly)...how can you beat the whole game with merely two continues?

So with a memory card you can save and leave off where you were even if you used your 2 continues.
