I can safely say I will be buying this game. I have only seen cinemas, but are so bad ass that I want to see them all. I just hope the game controls well with the Gamecubes freaky controller. Sure, it works great with Nintendo's titles, but with MGS? I'm not to sure. We'll see though.

I have to warn you though. Don't watch the trailer I mentioned unless you want alot of parts spoiled. Even if you have played the original several times like I have, you still might be disapointed by how much you will see.

Did you play MGS for PS1? I believe Twin Snakes is just a remake, re done in classy MGS2 graphics.

Yes, I did, and yes, you're right. Twin Snakes is a remake, but with all cinemas redone, and rerecorded dialogue.

If you are interested, go to www.gametrailers.com and download a trailer.

I was thinking the same exact thing prior to watching the trailer.

Trust me, watch the trailer, you'll be convinced as well.

The game is worth playing just to see the scenes that Ninja is in, don't you agree? The fights between him and Snake are very well done, even if they are totally over the top. But it's a fight between a super human soldier and a cyborg ninja, so why wouldn't it be?

I love cutscenes and all, and some of the choreography in MGS2 is unbelievable, but I can't play the original MGS anymore, I just can't get past the horribly pixelated graphics. The game deserves the treatment its getting from Nintendo and Silicon Knights.

My thoughts exactly. I actually tried to play the original MGS about a month ago, but the combination of having played it at least 20 times, and its aged graphics made it to where I couldn't play past the Ocelot battle.

I hope Nintendo has a hit on their hands with this one. Maybe it will show third parties that they wouldn't be wasting their time and money by supporting the GC.

Metal Gear Solid should be remade every system generation.

It is that much of a masterpiece.

It looks fantastic and on the Gamecube I don't think the pot could get any sweeter.

This was meant to be.
I was very heavy into MGS in the winter of 1998 when the Ridge Racer Type 4 import showed up, kicked down my door and took over all my gaming time for the next couple months. Never got back to MGS after reaching the battle with Psycho Mantis. I'm an enormous fan of Eternal Darkness, so I cant wait to see what they do with this. Good times.

i never was a big fan of mgs, even when i played the
import at my friends shop when it first came out.
its cool and all but i m not a big fan of sneaking games.
i d rather just have it all out full blown action stuffs.
but i did get bleem for the mgs game.
makes it look better i guess, or how i would figure the
pc port would look. sure wish they brought it out for R4.
i d love to play that game on my DC.

Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 were both masterpieces as games. As far as a rerelease goes, I say thank god. It was bad-ass enough as it was, but with updated graphics and some cleaning up + rerecorded v/o's it will be much much better.

I can hardly wait.

I have yet to watch the trailer I know it will be awesome from a few smaller ones I watched before. All I hope is that it gets ported to PS2 or 3 (considering 3 will be backwards compatible), I don't want to have to buy a GC for only one game :(.

Metal Gear Solid 2 had some nice gameplay features, but by the time you got to Raiden the storyline just started to fall apart. It just didn't flow and maintain the level of interest that it should have.

Metal Gear Solid had it all back in the day, and this remake of it will add in all that, the MGS2 gameplay mechanics, and some of the most bad ass cutscenes ever to grace any video game.

Just for the record, MGS: TTS won't be ported to anything as Silicon Knights has development stake in it, which means Nintendo has stake in it. Exclusives don't get ported. Of course at 99 bucks there isn't much of a reason not to have a Cube. Especailly considering how many great titles are out there on it, and at cheap prices now.

Yeah, I think the cube is lookin' pretty good too - whether or not that will translate into robust sales with the general whore public is quite another story :D. Anyway, MGS is a great game, and if it's nothing more than a spruced up rerelease of that then I'm in. I played a bit of MGS on the PS1, but never got to finish the game, as my friend only had the first disc.
