That link just got my major attention. This game does look good. Heck, any game with a character piloting a ship that just happens to be a Medium, and it shoots Wards and talismans, has to be entertaining, at the least. The screenshots look solid, but I'd have to see it in motion.

I'm half sold, at the least.

Kirk, if you want to see what it will be like, go to your local store, bring $10 and get the PS2 game Mobil Light Force 2. It is a butchered localisation of Shikigami No Shiro 1. It is a decent game, but unfortunatly I am not a fan. It tries for to much, but obtains too little. Anyways, yea it is a good game for $10, and will give you an Idea of what the sequal will play like.

The sequal came out on Naomi hardware where the first one came out on Taito G-Net so you can expect a boost in the GFX.

There is also a demo for Shikigami 1 for the PC, I almost forgot about that.

You get a figure of Fumiko. The witch.

Oh, Kirk you like the Miko too? Her name's Sayo, by the way.

Part 2 is a lot better than part 1 though!
This is to be expected. The thing is I am sure he will get a good idea of the gameply if he were to play part one, only expect more.

Me, well I am skeptical based on how lack-luster the first was. Especailly when there are much better shooters to be had, this game is quite low on my list.

Btw, anyone know the date in which SN2 will be released
for the DC?

You are only mainstream, not hardcore by any means.

I have downloaded the movies. I have seen the light. I haven't seen a release yet. But I'm definitely game. This game looks like it takes a little bit of everything any vertical-based shooter did (including the Saturn and Dreamcast ones) and splits up abilities among the cast members. Those characters look like they kick butt the level "X"- The anime has never seen. The higher resolution movie was the one where I could see that they were indeed people flying up there and not in space ships.

I think I'm quite sold on the game. Now I wonder whether they are keeping this possible gem in Japan-only, or will it see a stateside release on anything? I usually don't import any game unless it's on Dreamcast or possibly Gamecube, so if there's any availability of any version of this that's playable on my current systems; I'm nabbing it as soon as I can.

Also this will be comming out for DC too. If this does come out in the US I fear that it may be released as Mobile Light Force 3...

Anyways "This game looks like it takes a little bit of everything any vertical-based shooter did (including the Saturn and Dreamcast ones) and splits up abilities among the cast members."

That is precisly why I did not enjoy the game as much as other people have. So it will probably work out for you :)

I'm a big fan of the first Shikigami No Shiro on the Xbox. I recommend you avoid the US version because it does not have the vertical arcade mode.

It's a great 'modern shooter' with very nice character animation. The buzz system originally featured in Psyvariar is a great mechanic. My only problem with the game is that the character balance is terrible. The main character with the Ghost secondary (can't remember his name) is miles better than all the others, he is always going to win any highscore battle which makes all the other characters obslete.

I'm really looking forward to Shikigami No Shiro 2, I hope the character balance is better this time!
