I seriously feel sorry for anyone living there, get out, get out now.... I would rather live in Jersey...

If there ever was an example of what would happen if we let everyone in this country who wanted to live here, it's California.

How exactly is Kalifornia a "death trap"??? Do you mean in the sense of the Eartquake factor and TEH BIG ONE sinking that state one day... or some of the more draconian laws in that state with ass heads like Diane Feinstein and her Anti-Gun bullshit? ---Don't know quite what you mean, but Kali is a place I like to visit but never to have a permanent residence in. (no offense to those who live and love it there of course)

hmm why is it a death trap? it's insanly overpopulated, the beaches and water there is polluted as all fuck, the air is dirty as hell, the cost of living there is astronomical, the state is about bankrupt, and then there are all the fires/flash floods/earthquakes to worry about, yeah movie stars live there, and the weather is nice most of the time, but i don't see that outweighing all the other shit. in the 70's i bet that place was a fucking paradise to live in.

I would not even visit Cali. I'm ready for that whole damn state to sink into the ocean, once the big one kits. Cali is what happens when something becomes trendy and everyone and their momma goes there to try and become something they will never be. I just hate how the place is fucking glamorized by tv shows like the O.C. and movies and shit, i'm sure the normal people who live there don't want anymore fucking people moving there....

Still, what's the point of this post? If you don't like Cali, then don't go there, simple as that. I lived there when I was a young kid, sure the violence there is crazy, but what you gonna do? There are other things more important than finding time to hate a whole state.

That may be one of the uninformed and generally retarded posts I've yet to read on this site.

...then again, considering the source...

...........What a fucking retarded thread. Seriously, what's the point in this? So you've expressed that you hate the location as well as you hate Hispanics. I'm White myself, but your attack was clearly directly aimed at the easy access to California from Mexico. Grow up kid. I was born, and grew up here in California. Is the place all that great? Of course not, but what place is? I've been all around the US, and out of every state i'm glad I grew up here. More people are down to earth, there's more gun control, and there's a lot more to do in nice clean suburban neighborhoods. But why am I explaining this to you anyways? You obviously wish to express that you're more close-minded than most, so i'm glad you don't live here anyways.

*bets answer is jersey*

I don't live in Jersey or Cali, I said I'd rather live in Jersey over Cali, but I'm just picking the lesser of two evils, Jersey isn't the greatest place to live either.

then what state DO you live in.

kansas, why you wanna beat my ass?

to everyone in the thread who lives in cali, obviously you aren't gonna like what I gotta say about your state, most people wouldn't handle it well, but show me where I lied about something, everything I said about the state is true. It's a natural disaster waiting to happen, it's a case study for overpopulation and what happens to the economy/natural resources/enviroment.

and where did I fucking mention mexicans? are you kanjifreaks cousin? If you're talking about border jumpers, Texas probably has a bigger problem with that than Cali does, cause it's easier to get into texas. I said everyone and their momma wants to move there, IE people who already live in the USA. And I said it's an example of what would happen if the US government let everyone in this country who wanted to live here, we would have overpopulation and the exact problems california has now, because too many damn people live in the state.

LOL ... don't sweat the people that live in CA, Dash, they have an obligation to like it, poor bastards. I lived there for about four months or so, and the place truly is a cesspool. It really was a shame because I really like the school I was going to, but the place was just unliveable. Beyond all the practical reasons to hate it (overcrowding, pollution, overtaxed, cost of living, etc.), there is just this phony, elitist, politically correct air that seems to pervade much of the state.

I remember shelling out all this money and effort just to be there, and then I looked around and was like, "WTF am I paying for?"

I really found it quite baffling.

I knew I'd be leaving about two weeks after I got there. Personally, other than those who work in the movie industry, I really can't see any reason to live there.

Then again, I guess some people do live there and love it, so more power to them. Also, The Big Lebowski was filmed there, so I guess it's not all bad :D .

Anyway, I know I'll probably get insults thrown at me, like how stupid I am for not seeing the "magic" of CA or whatever. But I stayed there for long enough to be tortured by that wretched place, so this rant does not even come close to settling the score.

The only part of California you see is LA and San Francisco...

You see what is on TV.

CA sucks... really, don't visit, don't move here... don't even think of the state. Hopefully it will break off from the US and that sore of a state won't have to be seen anymore... and hell, AZ could use some beach front property... I mean, they already have the sand.

In closing you are so right, please don't ever break down and visit or consider moving here...

yeah that's true, i'm sure there's areas that are not that populated, everyone lives by the coastline, but you still get bitch slapped with those taxes.

LA...cool to visit, but not a place I'd want to live.
I lived in San Diego as a boy though...loved it. Love the beach, the weather...there really isn't anything not to like. California really is basically it's own nation, and I think most people tend to envy a lot of things they do have their, so they amp up the negatives and talk a lot of shit. Anything you can bitch about in Cali is present in virtually any other place in America though. But there are plenty of positives that you cannot find anywhere else in the US. I've had a lot of fun there on my many trips out from Tucson. Hanging out in Asian tea shops drinking Boba and staring at cute young Asian girls is highly recommended.

You know the funny thing, and this is really akin to what you are saying, when I lived in FL I felt the same way about CA. Then... got a job out there, feel in love with the state... then moved away from the state... went insane... had to get back to the state. Once you have been there you realize there are few other places you can live and get the same things. People like Galfordo seem to have been turned off by the cost of living and other CA centric problems and left... though, I get a feeling he is just trying to reassure himself that he really hates the place (that or he didn't even live there long enough to give it a chance). LA is big, loud, dirty, noisy, it's a fucking city and I love it. If you are a country boy I don't expect you to like any city... not just LA, but come on... CA as a state is beautiful, especially No. CA. Sure, LA is a cess pool, but that is why I like it... Ever hear Fear's I love livin in the city?... Kind of how I feel being in LA :)

Nick, can't agree with ou more on this, on my current career move, I'm open geographicly except 3 places, CA, NY, and DC simply due to insanely high cost of living, besides that, there're some intangible factors to consider - crimes, mentality (business/culture), air, and many more.

You have just listed probably my favorite reason for living in California.
