Check out "Mystery of the Necronomicon".

It's hentai horror anime, but it's almost like it wasn't supposed to be hentai... like the producers tacked on the hentai at the end cause they thought it wouldn't sell well enough.

It's pretty creepy, if you can ignore all the hentai parts.

Come to think of it, hentai is pretty creepy anyway.

It's all creepy.

Oops! Almost forgot to mention :

Urotsukidoji subbed and unedited was in fact released. Its exact title is "Urotsukidoji Perfect Collection" which I believe is a boxed set containing the entire series. That would be the video tape release. Not sure if its been released on DVD, but seems likely to me. Also, that same collection was released officially on CD I believe.

Oh well, being a fan of the first movie myself, I have all the Spanish VHS videos, and they are supposed to be uncensored. I had the chance to watch the UK video release of Urotsukidoji 3 parts 1,2 and they were CENSORED as hell, compared to the Spanish ones.

I bought the USA release of the DVD (of Urotssukidoji I, is my fav one by far) some years ago, and I couldn't find any diference with the Spanish video. Just some months ago the DVD of Urotsukidoji I was officially released here, I bought it but I still haven't been able to watch it. It clearly states in the box is COMPLETE and UNCUT.

By the way, I would really recommend to read the Urotsukidoji comics. They were not published in Spain, but I think it was in some other European countries, like Italy. I managed to download scans of the first 12 USA volumes (totally uncensored) and I liked them a lot, they are very different to the movie. But I'm pissed I don't have the entire collection nor can't find it for sale anywhere, I don't even know how many volumes or series were published there. Any info will be welcome.

I think those 12 volumes were the only ones published in the US, along with a graphic novel. But I'm not 100% sure.

Speaking of Shuten Douji, the latest version (entitled "Koumaden Shuten Douji") was released in bound format (2 vols.) in 2003. It's illustrated by Natsumoto Masato, creator of the King of Fighters Kyo manga (on which the KOF Kyo PS1 game was based). I picked this one up while I was in Japan for New Year's -- some really nice artwork in this one. Here's the particulars, for those who're interested:

Title: 降魔伝手天童子 Koumaden Shuten Douji Vol. 1
Authors: 永井豪、夏元雅人 Nagai Gou, Natsumoto Masato
Publisher: 秋田書店 Akita Shoten
Price: 540 yen
Date: 4/17/2003
ISBN: 4253230636

Title: 降魔伝手天童子 Koumaden Shuten Douji Vol. 2
Authors: 永井豪、夏元雅人 Nagai Gou, Natsumoto Masato
Publisher: 秋田書店 Akita Shoten
Price: 540 yen
Date: 9/25/2003
ISBN: 4253230644

Heres the Urotsukidoji answer...and it aint easy ;)

Question:

I have a question about Urotsukidoji. I want to purchase this complete title, but I don't understand which parts I need. What parts are in the Perfect Collection? Is there a censored version? Or is the Hell on Earth boxed set the most complete and uncensored version?
Answer:

First of all, allow me to make it clear that there are no existing totally uncensored versions of Urotsukidoji animation available. Urotsukidoji part 3 does not contain overt, visual censoring because it's simply not graphic enough to need it, but all other Urotsukidoji animation is old enough that the censoring is not digital censoring laid over the animation but actually a part of the animation itself and therefore cannot be altered or removed.

Urotsukidoji was originally released in Japan as four series of individual OAV releases over a period of several years. There were 3 episodes in the first series, known as "Legend of the Overfiend." There were 2 volumes in the second, "Legend of the Demon Womb" series. There were 4 separate episodes in the third "Return of the Overfiend" series, and 3 OAV episodes in the fourth, "Inferno Road" series. The third and fourth series were released in America in their original, uncut separate episode format only on dubbed VHS. The only DVD releases of the third and fourth Urotsukidoji series are in their dubbed, combined and spliced together "movie" versions. The "Hell on Earth" DVD boxed set includes the dubbed, compiled "movie" versions of all four Urotsukidoji series. The Perfect Collection includes the original uncut, but still censored, subtitled Japanese language individual, original 5 episodes of the first two Urotsukidoji series.

For ultimate purists, the only way to get all of Urotsukidoji in its original, albeit partially dubbed, uncut Japanese format is to purchase the Urotsukidoji Perfect Collection DVD and the individual VHS volumes of "Return of the Overfiend" episodes 1-4 and "Inferno Road" episodes 1-3. The next step removed from the individual separate episodes is the Perfect Collection DVD and the "Return of the Overfiend" and "Inferno Road" DVDs which would provide the individual episodes of series 1 & 2 and the "movie" versions of series 3 & 4. Fans that simply want to see all of the Urotsukidoji anime and don't mind minor editing and only having the option of English or untranslated Japanese dialogue are best off with the Hell on Earth DVD boxed set.

Oh well, I think I confused the terms "cut" and "censored". All the versions of Urotsukidoji 3 & 4 I've seen are censored, in the sense there's some "mist" in the naughty places. Also, the UK videotapes of Urotsukidoji 3 parts 1,2 were, other than that, cut several minutes.
Urotsukidoji 1 and 2 were not censored with that "mist", and I don't think there was anything cut.

So only those 12 volumes were published in USA? That sucks. Anyway I just remembered that many years ago I bought an Italian volume of Urotsukidoji in the "Salo del Comic de Barcelona", and what was inside was not included in the 12 USA volumes I downloaded. So Italy might the complete serie.

I had the VHS version of Legend of the Overfiend on tape yearrrrrrrrs ago and there was no blurred mist either. If this guy is right about there being censoring in the original prints, then maybe we saw the edited version. I do seem to recall certain moments when something that looked like man-splooge hitting the screen. Maybe those were the edits/censors...?

You should rent all of the LA Blue Girl series. Good stuff if you like monsters raping cute asian chicks.

Avoid the live action version though.

It's good for a laugh anyway. Just don't buy it.

Who wouldn't laugh at live action attempts at tentacle sex?

If you haven't checked them out already, these are some interesting titles:

KI*ME*RA

Twilight of the Dark Master

Darkside Blues

They're nice and short OVAs, so it'd provide a fairly quick diversion for your anime viewing. :p

Stepping away from Urotsukidouji and toward Guyver for a moment, have you tried Baoh (sometimes referred to by it's full title, Baoh The Visitor)? One-shot OAV (with character designs by Mikimoto Haruhiko [Macross, Gunbuster, Megazone 23, Orguss, etc.]) based on the manga by Araki Hirohiko [Jojo's Bizarre Adventure]. Some nice bits of violence in this one.

Cheers Rich i'll look in to it :tickled:

As for Urotsukidoji, one bit that i do know that is Cut from the UK Manga Version is where Akemi gets raped by the teacher at the begining, i have seen a clip of it where it had much more to it, like the tentacles go up her ass :D and the whole thing was just alot more explicit.

Amano : was this bit in the version you have?
