I thought the Famicom one was rare (1000 made i think) and expensive as hell.

Or is that something else?

I think it was, but enough demand popped up to warrant a large production of them. Either way, who cares. I'm definately buying one.

/me waits for chimp to come in here and shit on what could be a positive thread.

I saw one of the originals the other day in Akihabara and it was like $1000 or something ridiculuous like that...

I tried to win one. The new mass production one looks way better IMHO.

Never really wanted an SP (the regular GBA is small enough already -- gives my Amerikan-saizu hands the aches somethin' fierce), but I really liked the Famicom color scheme SP when it had its limited run last year. Might have to ask my bud in Japan to pick one up for me. BTW, I highly recommend Famicom no Video (the 20th anniversary Famicom documentary DVD also shown on Lik Sang's website). Bought one of those the day before I left Japan -- Matsuda-san was ready to buy one himself the minute I got it back to his house, and nearly went mad with nostalgia just sampling a few minutes of it. Some really good stuff on that one.

It's been 20 years since the birth of FAMICOM.
We are proud to present a special DVD filled with your precious memories.

Yeah it looks cool alright but the games are like 2000 yen a pop... with no enchancements I think. Too bad. :P

I hope more companies jump on this, especially KONAMI, SNK and CAPCOM...I want to see Ghosts N' Goblins, Ikari Warriors, CastleVania 1-2-3, Iron Tank, Guerrila Wars, the whole nine yards. I only want that Zelda no Densetsu: Hyrule Fantasy, because I just know that title alone is worth having out of the entire Famicom-Mini Series as of now

That's pretty cool, but I'd rather see a NES themed SP in the U.S.

Wow, that looks sweet! I don't have a GBA sp so I'll deffinetly look into picking one of these up. The new version looks much better.

The original looks like some frankenstein made by a fan, the new one looks much cleaner and nicer

Hmmm, looks nice. I might have to have my buddy pick one up for me in Japan next month.

That looks great...if I didn't get the Shinyaku Seiken Densetsu boxset (Legend of Mana blue) I'd get this...
