Great movie (although alot is going on, and is confusing at times) Sweet gunfights, and good special effects. Just saw and bought the DVD yesterday! :buttrock:

Give this movie a try!

yeah it was a really god aweful movie. i've seen better acting from homeless people trying to convince you the money isn't for booze.
but ah well. at least alot of people got killed. that's the only thing i had going for it.

Neh, I believe Desperado is a remake of El Mariachi

Once Upon a Time in Mexico, garbage. I'd watch LXG and House of the Dead again before I'd give Once Upon a Time another view.

Desperado isn't a remake because there is a flashback to the original Mariachi, where his FIRST love interest gets killed.

Once Upon a Time is a great movie...can you believe that was shot entirely on digital? Plus Johnny Depp is fuckin A.

desperado was not a remake, but antonio banderas is not even in the first film, and OUATIM was pretty sucky, desperado owned it for free.

I agree, I really liked it. I just wish William Defoe played a bigger role.

EXACTLY! *Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way about the movie though everyone I know go on and on about how great the movie is??? Rodriguez waited 8 long years between doing Desperado and OUATIM, and what supossed to be the finale to the trilogy ended up being a disjointed film that wasted everyone's time. Sure Johnny Depp's character was cool... but that's all he was. *Willem Dafoe was wasted in his role, Eva Mendez basically did her "All you guys who like latina honies, here I am" Eva Mendez routine... nothing special... Salma Hayek is in the film for all of 10 minutes, and Banderas himself got to sleep walk through his lines and try to make us feel for him about the General who killed Carolina? *Don't even get me started about MR. "I want your Doritos!" Enrique either.

I still think this has to do with Rodriguez gettin' too soft making those dumb ass SPY KIDS films. He took all the intergrity out of the first installment... all the John Wooish but it's coolness out of the second and practically handed the viewers a regurgitated POS. *Strange how people said they liked this one over the first two. No one ever gets enough time for even a smidgen of what is called "Character Development", and by the time it all ended I wanted my money back.

If this is the finale, I'll look to Carlos Gallardo (the original Mariachi) who still turns out interesting INDIE flicks, and whatever he's got in store for the future, than sell out Rodriguez and his "Spoon Fed cookie cutter crap."

Only thing I love about "Once Upon A Time in Mexico" is the shooting battle between Johnny and two dudes.

That's it....

Beh,

I thought it was a fun movie.
Flawed in a lot of ways, but very fun.

I wouldn't recommend it for those who which to get a better understanding of Mexico and its people (although, maybe it says a lot about their pop culture tendancies -Mr. Rodriguez did write it...)

Once upon a time in Mexico was fucking awesome, but would have been in-fucking-credible if they chopped out all the gringos except Johnny Depp and replaced them with actual Mexicans.

Because Johnny Depp carried this movie all on his own.

Once upon a time in Mexico has been my biggest movie deception EVER. I liked the first 2, but that one sucked. Hard. I didn't even like Johnny Depp. And Salma Hayek only appears a few minutes, and worst of all, with clothes on
