Just saw it today on DVD. It was better than I expected. First half of the movie kinda stunk, but then it kicked into high gear. :) I mean it wasn't scary in the least, but it was entertaining. Freddie is still da man :buttrock: He would be great as a late night talk show host.

It was good, but I didn't like the way Freddy was able to fight with Jason so well in the real world. Jason should have been able to fuck him up, no problem. I understand they had to balance it to keep the movie interesting, but they overpowered Freddy way to much.

I picked it up earlier today and the extras are pretty much as good as I thought they would be. The behind the scenes documentaries are fairly boring and uninteresting, but everything else is right on the money.

The pre-fight press conference is a hoot and shows just how big of a deal this movie really was. Overall, I think it's a great DVD with a decent amount of extras. This one gets 4 machetes and 1 Freddy glove from the Quake. ;)

I voted 2nd option but really my feelings are:

"It was OK I guess but geez! So much UNTAPPED potential. Fun for the fans I guess... but... I'm left wanting MUCH MUCH MORE. Oh, BTW, Michael Myers could kick both their tushes"

I thought the movie was pretty badasss, they didn't marketed it as a horror film, they marketed it as a fight between two slasher horror icons and the movie did a good job of them going at it.

Yeah, that is the only thing I didn't like about it. His Slasher glove attack had way too much priority unlike in Elm Street 2.;)

This movie to me was comical. Nothing scary at all. The fight was also comical, but good. Freddy reminded me of Choi so much.
The DVD extras are pretty cool.
Overall the movie was decent at best.

I just saw this film last night, and i admit i was a but sceptical at how good the film was going to be. But honestly i thought this film seriously rocked. Great fights, plus Jason is a total badass in this film. Sure it was a bit cheesy but i mean come on, how cool is it to see freddy fight jason. I really liked how they tied Jason and Freddy together with the storyline, as silly as it was i enjoyed it.

Sure Freddy vs Jason isn't a classic but it was a lot of fun.

You hit the nail on the head. Could they have done more? Sure. Will they fix all the problems in the possible sequel? Probably not. Does it really matter? Nope. FvsJ had a high body count, lots of blood (by today's standards) and had enough of the typical unintentionally bad stuff to make you feel like you were watching part of either one of the series. And to top it all off, the DVD is loaded. New Line did a great job. Now if only Ronny Yu would lay off of the fake slow-motion for one movie. :smirk:

Myers vs Jason that's sorta par...two guys wear masks, use any weapon, well blunt to sharp weapons, and both can't be killed...

As for the movie, I thought it was pretty good, explains why Freddy didn't kill off the entire town, that strangely stays there forever, Jason that was alittle unique in reviving his ass...As for Freddy being overpowering, hell yeah he was, because he actually has more of a brains then Jason's cut and kill for momma...Freddy's dream world kills is more unique and fun, but he has more weaknesses then Jason.

I got the DVD yesterday and i liked the tv spots that wasnt shown in the uk but most of the deleted scenes were not of any redeeming values so i can see why they were deleted.

As i saw the film so many times in the cinema, I decided to watch it with the commentary on as would have been a bit bored watching it again so soon, but the colour and picture were sharp and clear and I thought it was funny how Robert Englund kept swearing during it:)

A good purchase for me all and all, took me ages to read the fangoria section. I did think the camp hackenslash was a bit shit though.
