KOF 2001 (PS2) glitch

i'm playing KOF2k1 right now (PS2 Jap version) and just then i was using P1 heidern against CPU whip with VERY little LIFE left. i did his projectile while whip was using her whip though she got hit with the attack. there was still 23 counts left so it couldn't be a time over.

K.O appeared with the word winner on the upper left hand corner a second later like normal. afterwards i noticed that whip had not been knocked out but instead doing her time over pose rather than laying on the ground.

Is this normal ? Or is mine just screwed ? SERIOUSLY ! ! !

Probably just a glitch that will happen once in a blue moon til you figure out what triger you screwed up. It happens in fighting games often. Heck thats what MVC2 is all about .
