That's not a valid excuse for justifying it.

I'm on ADSL but still I disabled sig viewing, the forums are smooth as butter ever since.
Anyway I heard there are some people that have very long pics in their sigs, too. I think mods should try to stop heavy and/or long sigs.

Absoutely, people should use their sigs with respect for all the board's users.

700k is just TOO much, there should be a limit

It was decided a while back that 100k would be the limit for pictures in sigs. That limit used to be stated next to the signature box in a user's profile, but it wasn't carried over in the move to VB.

Seeing how it's 7 times over the limit...

Agreed. A single .gif in his sig was 700K in size, which is ridiculous. :shame: Looks like the gif is gone now, thankfully. :)

no way, your sig is fine... 22k is a reasonable size, and it doesn't take up anywhere near as much space pixel-wise as some other people running around here *coughrvf400cough*. No problems with it at all. :)

anyway, I'm glad the image was removed from Setsuna's sig, but I just know some other asshat is going to try to be clever and link to that damn pic too. Considering I've seen it on two other boards now... sigh.

If you can't make it look good small, why are you using it as your avatar? Do you think your avatar looks shit?

I didn't think it was that hard to resize a pic without completely fucking up the resolution.

It's big in terms of space that it takes up on a person's screen. It's a little better than it was before, but it's still too long. It takes up the entire screen on the computer here at work, which is on 800x600. I mean when you have the cat picture, the good trader list, the animated gifs... well, a lot of space could be saved if you listed all the names separated by commas or something instead of giving each one its own line.

As for resizing pics, try this. Download Irfanview from http://www.irfanview.com , it's an excellent program. Anyway, open up the pic and press Ctrl-R. From there you can change the pixel size to whatever you want. Enter the desired number, and then check the bottom-right corner of the menu. Select RESAMPLE Image, not Resize. Whenever I use the resample option to change the size of a pic, it always looks about the same quality as the original pic. I used to use a different program to resize pictures, and they would end up looking blocky or pixelly like your pic does now.

And I think I mentioned it before, but I'm always annoyed when avatars and sigs have the same picture... it's so redundant... but ehh that's just me I guess
