On CPS2 games the 3rd and 4th players buttons come from the kick/jamma+ harness.

Check out this site: http://www.world-of-arcades.com/APPA_Index.htm

He has hundreds of manuals online in .pdf format for your viewing pleasure. He doesn't have the armored warriors manual in english (just the Powered Gear version) but check out some other 3 and 4 player CPS2 games such as dungeons and dragons, alien vs predator, etc. They all have the same kick harness pinout.

Have fun with Armored Warriors, that is such a sweet game. I just got a D&D:SOM board last week (still waiting for my A board to come in though :( )

THANKS!!!^^^^^^^^

I found the kick harness info....

34 -- ground (for pin 25, 23, 21, 11, and 9)
33 -- ground (for pin 13, 15, 17, and 19)

25 -- button 3
23 -- button 2
21 -- button 1
11 -- start
9 -- coin

13 -- up
15 -- down
17 -- left
19 -- right

7 -- lockout
5 -- +12v (for lockout)

What are these last two for? do I need them?

also, do I need to hook up the grounds to the buttons they say to? or can I use grounds from other areas?

The "lockout" is used to block coins for 3P. You don't need to use it. You can use grounds from anywhere (which is what I do) - all of the DC grounds are the same.

No you don't need to hook up the stuff for lockout. That only applies if you have a cabinet. It has to do with not accepting a coin when the cabinet is off, or at leasts that what i think it does. HardMVS.com has an explanation of the "lockout" feature on thier MVS vs. JAMMA pinout.

No, i dont think what ground you use matters.

*Edit: Looks like Riot beat me to it
