I have seen black and white copies of samurai spirits IV on mvs. Can anyone help me find out if mine is a boot.

If you can take a picture of the 2 boards inside your Sam Sho IV cart and post them in this thread i'm sure the more knowledgeable members on this forum would be more then happy to tell you if your cart is legit or not.

Black is more common, but SNK used various case colors throughout all of the cartridge runs up until about KOF01 (which, yes, is no longer SNK really). So seeing a Black, Clear, White, etc cart is not uncommon. Like was said, you really need to see the inside in order to know if it is a bootleg or not.

Nruva is correct. I believe there are only a few select MVS titles that were released in specific color cartridges only.

There are some black cased Garou carts released in America. The US saw Black, Clear, and Clear Green... The Asian market saw the opaque light green case... probably black as well,

The cart is completly original... here are those pictures for everyone to see:

ss4.gif

The wavy lines you are speaking about, are they all over the screen EXCEPT at the Neo-Geo logo? I had this problem with SS4 and a few other games, it turned out to be my 4 slot that was going bad... The 4 slot eventually died on me, power surged. I would take a look at the power levels on the harness with a multimeter. Make sure that +5 and +12 are right... the +5 is give or take, some people like it closer to +5.25, I get more problems there though,

Thanks Nick, I really appreciate the help. Im new to mvs and am using a phantom 1 at the moment until I can afford a supergun and mvs 2 slot. The lines are only when the scaling effect is used which is what made me think it was a problem with one of the chips. Why are these things always so complicated?
Thanks again.
