DC agetec stick (broke!?)

Hello all my neo bretheren, my brother was playing MvC2 with my Agetec stick (one with the green buttons and stick) and after he was done and i used it, the left was all fucked up on it!! anyone have any suggestions or know why this happened?! any thoughts would be highly appreciated thanks!!

does it not register a left direction, does it drift, is it stuck, what exactly is the problem?

Did it just do this once when you started it up? It could have been that the joystick was tilted while you started it up. That can cause problems. Just try restarting it making sure it's in the neutral position.

like when i try to move left my character will just stand there, but if you jerk it real hard it sometimes works then stops again. it basically doesnt register much

Maybe the joystick is broken... take off the metal plate on the bottom and test each direction with a digital multi-meter... put the black test lead on the black wire for the joystick (common) and put the red lead on each of the other four wires (one for each of the four directions) one-by-one... when you move the joystick from the center position to one direction the resistance reading should change from open to about 0 ohms (closed). There's not much else I can tell you without seeing it in person.

However I do have a damaged stick laying around (has one bad button) but the stick is fine... if you find that your joystick is bad (meaning, just the stick itself) I can send you the stick from this one for a replacement, or you can send your entire unit to me and I should be able to fix it. LMK.

holy crap! thanks for all the help! but Riot of the blood what is a digital multimeter?! im not skilled in fixing joysticks and what not, but would like to be. im gonna take my stick apart later tonight and see if i can fiddle around with it. and Riot of the blood, id take the stick if you dont want it, cuz i think thats the only thing wrong with it. I dont really know what im doing so if you wanted to repair it thatd be tits. thanks again
