Hello,

I just got a new cab., great news right? well not so fast!

There is actually 2 problems with it... a minor and a major:

- Major problem is that there is no keys... no way to open the cab... I'd like to know if anyone knows how to open a cabinet without the keys.

- The minor one being the yellow color on the white plastic casing. Does anyone have any good solution to that? I tried the bleach pen from Oxyclean already, without results.

Take a drill with a medium size bit, stick it where the key should go, and drill it out. You should get ot a point where you cant drill anymore, put a bigger bit on, and it shold come off after that. You can buy replacement locks at a hardware store cheap.

Im guessing that the cab was white, but is yellowed by smoke. Not much you can do about this, could paint it if it really bothers you

Hey,hey Congrats!!

You you finally got it..

Does it have the Japanese locks or the US locks..?
I'm not sure if the round tipped key locks are Japanese..(???)

I can pick the US locks using a mini screw driver set...but not the round keyed entry locks on my Candy..

I wonder if you could get into the cab from the bottom..?

Its the jap. keylock, jap. coinmech... everything is original even teh control panel.

I managed to get inside the cab from the back (by unscrewing the back panel - which has these annoying "star shaped" screws), the problem is that there is a problem with the screen (it flickers a lot, need some tuning) but the panel to access it is on the front.
Not sure I am clear but anyway I need to open it :)

I'll try to post a pic tonight. Definetely your kind of cab. Chris1 ;)

The "annoying star shaped screws" are really no big deal at all . they use a Torx bit , but you can unscrew them very easilly with a small flat bladed screwdriver that fits the width of the screw or even a larger Phillips head bit in a drill, just push hard against them while spinning the drill and they will bite and loosen up. I use a Phillops bit on mine all the time. As for the monitor controlls ... which cab did you get ? nost of the candies you need to unscrew the bezel around the front of the monitor and the monitor board is directly under the front of the monitor behind this bezel , generally they are resecessed back a bit so a long small flat bladed screwdriver is reccomended..

Congrats and welcome to the torture and joy that is the Neo :D

Lol I have to try and stop using my 46' tv as a pc monitor , works great for games but this text crap is total fuzzzz :D lol Ive edited this post like 5 times now due to fuzz  ... ok make that 6 times :p

Ok Im going out on a limb here ... but Im guessing youre cab is either a 25 or 29 since its yellowed ,in which case as Neogeo2 said ....not much to do about it other than repaint it since the paint/plastic itself is basically screwed at that point {thats part of the reason I prefer the SC series cabs more than the other designs} If in fact it is a 25 or 29... ? Im pretty sure the monitor board is locatred remotly in the front of the cab somewhere just behind the door in the front ? or there is a trigger or arm you reach in and slide to one side and the bezel pops off ? One thing you may want to go do is look around on Briggs site.

www.hardmvs.com particularly here http://www.hardmvs.com/html/Downloads.htm and look for a manual that is the same as youre cab. Provided its there you should be more or less set :D

But I'm not sure..
He told me what he was buying when I was over his place but I forgot..

I'll have to wait and see...

(I have a feeling its going to be one awesome cab)

Hmm an Egret ? Taito machines are weird animals :D should be rather easy to find the boards though since there really isnt much there ,most cabs are pretty straight forward when it comes to control boards. I think MikeAce was buying an Egret from the Tao Bros ? ... not sure though.

Ohh yeah .... Hey Chris1 hows it been going man :D

been nothing but work ,work ,work for me at all sorts of weird hours , lol I have been neglecting all my online friends lately :loco:

I'm not sure if it's a Egret...I could be way off on this one..

Candycab..
Yea,...I was wondering how you've been..
I figured you were busy with work..I was right...
I've been busy myself...I get's crazy at times..

One of the kids mother who brings her kid to my day care center picks her kid up,goes around the corner and gets into an accident..
I get a call that she was in an accident,So I the car brought over to the auto Shop next door..
(I know the guy so he gave her a break on the work with a later payment..)
This all happened so fast..It was Great that they didn't get hurt..but I wondered if I only would have talked to the mother for a few more seconds/minutes maybe she may have not been in an accident at all.
That had me messed up this week..
