I was just wondering if it was illegal to offer a service where you convert carts and do system mods for people (s-video, stereo). Not saying that I am going to offer it once I get answers about it, just a question I had. Tiptonium makes it painfully obvious that he will not offer any service to convert carts, besides giving the details on how to do it, and thats cool. I have never seen the service offered, besides mas offering it, but $100 seems like alot just to switch a few chips over.

I have a phantom 1 myself and have never even seen a converted cart besides on the net. I dont think there is anything wrong with owning converted carts, Id rather pay $100 or so for a converted metal slug then pay the thousands that it goes for in original AES format.

The question just popped into my head when I was looking thru the neo geo freak web site and saw Crossed Swords 2 AES cart pics, obviously a bootleg. In there defense they were not offering it for sale though. Thanks in advance for any info, again just questions in my head so please no:very_ang: :very_ang:

Yes, it is illegial to pay someone to convert a cart for you as far as I understand. System mods on the other hand are fine to do. Kenny Boy does a great job with system mods, if your looking to get your modded get it done by him.

That's cool, I will look into getting my systems modded by him. Any idea how much it costs for s-video, stereo and bios mods? Or where I can get info about them?

Thanks for the info about converted carts also. :)

not illegal, just very very unethical....... Unless you sell it as original.

Converting a Cart is no different than putting a 2.2l Chevy Engine inside a Corvette. Then take a 327/350 and put it in a corsica.

Use the search function at the top for "kenny Boy". You will find out info about his mods from that.

I dunno how much it would cost, maybe $175-200?

Can you post a link for the MAS website offering their service?

I've never looked at their website before, I'd like to have a look at it.

Thanks!
