Will using a SNES/SFC AC adapter fry my Neo Geo AES?

I read on a website or an eBay auction or somthing that you could use a Super Famicom AC adapter to power a Neo Geo AES system. Is this correct? If so, I have used a SNES AC adapter on a Super Famicom and it worked fine, so could I use a SNES adapter on my AES console without causing damage to it? I would very much appreciate it if somebody could help me out with this. Thanks!
