Slimline volume issues

I just got a great slimline, however the speaker is insanely quiet, as in "put the speaker to your ear and put it on high just to hear it barely" quiet.

Anyone know any issues or stuff that could bring it back to glory?

Turn the dial up? ;)

Just guessing, maybe open it up and de-solder and re-solder the wires leading to the speaker. If it still doesn't work, find a replacement speaker.

that's weird, as that system has an absolutely booming speaker.

If you open it, you'll need the special Y shaped security bit thing.

I have a better description, you know those cigarette lighters that have the dial to adjust the level of flame? And if you open it up and take it off the track, you can set it so that the low setting is now on the highest setting and the highest setting is insanely high?

It's as if someone did this in reverse with the volume dial. The sound sounds perfect just really quiet.

Any clue where I could get something to open this up? I have a set to open up video game systems and carts except all the bits (including my Y-bits) are much too large.

I bought one like that and I returned it to the seller. I picked up another one and it was super loud. The way it is suppose to be.

maybe the internal amp died.
or maybe power isnt getting to the amp transistor inside, so audio just passes thru without amplification.

check both ;)
