Okay Im fairly new at all this and I was wondering if there would be a way to take a standard Sega Saturn Pad and modify it to use an X-box cord with the female connection at the end, then make up about four or five different connectors that would enable you to play with the pad on any system just by switching out the end part of the cable. You guys follow me???

Okay I dont know if you guys were following me . . . the adapters that Im seeing are not quite what I was thinking. I was wondering if you could wire up a cable with a connector (the one so that when you walk across the X-Box cable it doesnt pull on the system and the controller just disconnects) and then make the second part of the cable work for X-Box and then make another seperate part of the cable work for PS2, then Neo and what not. So have a PS2 connection with a cable that could plug into any X-Box controller. Is that possible?

not without slaying a pad for each of the systems and stuffing the remains into a box you plug the pad in. the pads use different standards and usually encode the signal to require fewer wires.. i.e. the xbox pad is USB and all actual button presses and motions are sent over just 2 wires.. PS2 uses something like 6 signal lines etc.
it's not a matter of simply hooking the wires from the pad to the wires of the other connector.

Don't you think that if it was possible to do what you say, everybody would do that instead of getting all the extra work explained in that links?
