There's an auction THIS Saturday in cherry hill, NJ.

I'll be there, so if anyone else wants to go with.. even if you've never gone to one before. Let me know. I'd like to meet up and maybe help out some people looking for a deal on a new cab. If we get there early enough... I can try to go over a bunch of cabs THROUGHLY so people don't get ripped off.

This is a great place for parts or full machines... projects.. etc.

I'll post up in here later for what you need to bring, rules, tips and so on.

Post up in here if you're interested!

:(

That's the day of our bi-annual mega LAN party of doom.

Damn shame too, I live 5 minutes from that place. Maybe at the next one they have there we can have a meet at my place.

Well, these things go off pretty early. Depending on what time it is... you could probably catch some of it.

Nope, when I say "of doom" it starts at 9AM at my old school, runs till 10PM, then we move to my one buddies house and begin drinking.

Drunken PC gaming and hilarity ensues till the next day. :buttrock:

Yeah I know, don't even start.

If you guys are going, don't forget to bring an extra extension cable. Sometimes the machines are placed far away from a wall socket.

Yeah, I'm a veteran of the Jersey auctions.. I was going to post that info closer to the date.. and bring extras for board members! Damn you!

If you're a noob to cabs..meet up with me.. I can help you pick out a nice cab or at least go over it for you to see if it's in good working order.

I'd love to go to one of this Auctions. Sucks I got no way to transport an arcade game, and I'm out of money right now with christmas and all.

I'd like to get a nice Jamma cab to put my 2Slot in.

I should be there..VanillaThunder..I plan to..

I've been going for parts/boards/Kits/MVS carts/Marquees/Side Are Stickers..etc...slot machines.

Last week I brought home a bunch of varios side Art stickers(big Box)and around 20 large marquees amongst other things.
(Sky Shark/Pac man Plus Large Marquees..)on wall now)

Most of them are going on Ebay..
While looking through everything I found some new Tekken 3 Side Art stickers..(the Character Faces)

Today I found 2 cool Capcom yellowish/blue letters side art stickers in the box.(I wish I had something to put them on)

After I get all I want in parts etc..I look at the cabs..
But I usually have to leave before they get to anything I'd consider bidding on..
I'd like to look over some cabs with you..

If I do go,I'll PM you my cell number..

That way if we do meet up we won't be outbidding each other for the same things.:D

I never say..I will be there because anything could turn up..

Not sure if I'm looking for a cab, but parts I definitely am.

Did they have a lot of MVS carts at the one last week?

To my surprise there was 2 boxes of MVS carts, they seemed so familiar..
It was nice to see carts outside of Ebay.

Around 14-15 carts in total....No much.
I've never seen them at auction, for I usually get to the auctions late or I'm either only looking for cabs.

I was looking through the boxes of stuff when all of the sudden the auction started..
I didn't register yet..I wanted to feel out the pricing....Competition.
When I started to see how cheap stuff was selling I told my uncle to run over and register while keep an eye out on what sold..
(fkn slow lady at counter)

While he was registering they started bidding off the 5-6 cart lot of MVS carts..."Shit I said,I missed out"..but the 5-6 lot of carts went pretty high for just a Metal Slug 2 and other common carts.
Something like 35-40.00..That amount felt sort of high at auction for me..

The announcer even said,"come on guys there is a Metal Slug 2 in here"..
That was pretty cool..it seemed like the guy knew all about it..
As soon my uncle got the number, for bidding they went to the 9 cart lot..
I started bidding and won them all for $40.00..a sweet deal..
All US carts...
Art Of Fighting- W marquee
Sengoku- W marquee
3 Count Bout
World Heroes
Samurai Shodown- W marquee
King Of The Monsters
King Of The Monsters 2
Super Sidekicks 2- W marquee
Baseball Stars 2

EDIT..
I forgot..
The best thing about the carts is that underneath the MVS carts in the box I found a Bust A Move & Aero Fighters 2 Art Kits in Baggies....(after I left)

The most thing they had were used monitors..damn..a lot of monitors..up to 25" monitors.
Shoot If I needed a monitor, that was the place to get it..
They were ending cheap..and some were also being sold in lots..

There wasn't as much as I would have liked to see in parts..
I only spent $135.00 but I came home with a bunch of stuff...

The Coolest thing I heard talked about was this big ..Gauntlet Legends machine that had to be taken apart to move..
It was mint and sold for only $338.00...working.

The funniest thing was this Giant Gum Ball Machine..it was like 7 ft tall..
No one would bid on it..When they started the bidding on it the whole place got quiet..
It sold for a dollar..
The toys inside it were worth more then a dollar.

Heh, no, I am just curious. I don't really want to go if there are only cabs. I am not interested in one now. I am not looking to rake in a bunch of boards. I am going on a Holiday of sorts about a week later so I can't spend lots of money.

They only had 3-4 boards..I was hoping to find something worthwhile..but nothing special...

I let them go since they weren't really anything I wanted..+ they looked like they needed other stuff to hook them up..
Non jamma Boards...Untested...and dirty
It seemed like no one actually paid attention to them.
The 3-4 sold in the range of 10-25..

I bought a Full Arch Rivals Kit for $20.00..but only to resell it..
(I have no clue if it works, that's a chance you take)

They all fought for the Merit machines..
Some were $1000.00 starting bid..

I would of been happy to come home with at least one Jamma board..
I started looking at the cabs that were in bad shape that had Jamma Boards in them..
I was thinking about buying one of them, taking it apart, using the parts.selling the parts etc..but I had to leave..
I have a lot of patience, but it gets tiring waiting around for them to come around to something you have your eye one.

(I went home and found a few Jamma boards on Ebay for cheap)..

Another thing I noticed is there are guys that will buy up a particular type of machine..all of them..
There were two guys buying the Neo Geo machines..
They looked like Arcade owners..the one guy had a lot of Arcade machine lock keys on his side..
Supposedly they bought the two conversions..(The Vindicators Conversion was horrible)
There were two other conversions that I noticed and The 6 & 4 slot Dedicated cabs.(black sides)
I was checking everything out in the 6 & 4 slot when they walked up to the cabs..
I heard what they were talking about..
They bought other Neo Geo cabs and wanted the 4 ans 6 slot too. They were planning out what they were going to do with them..
(I like to size up my competition)

I had my eye on both of them, the 4 & the 6 and I would of outbid them...I even had already made space in the van...
I was hoping the bidding would come around to those cabs but they took a turn and went up the farther side (damn it)
I had to leave..
The 4 & 6 slot cabs would of been in the last line of cabs to be bid on..
That may have been a good thing though...:(
There is always next time..

Just imagine this as a Neo Geo conversion.

vin.jpg

They cut a Romstar 1 slot Neo Geo Marquee to put on the top..
It had an Ultimate 11 marquee in it..but the cab had a Metal Slug cart in it's 1 slot.
(No lie,I was thinking about buying/bidding on the cab just to get the game and then selling the rest..:D )

They put a laminated Neo Geo control panel on it and added buttons and sticks...

It looked like a Neo Geo Tank with the tracks on the sides..
It was painted all black though.

Someone may have liked it..and if you bought it for cheap sure..
But I stood in front of the machine as if I was playing it and the sticks were on an angle....
The center of the control panel is raised.. like ^

That same machine was there today..and bought back again.

WAS A VERY GOOD AUCTION FOR NEO STUFF.

No carts, not a lot of parts, but the cabs there were INCREDIBLE.

I lost out on every neo cab, just because they were going too high for my taste, and the same guy bought every one of them. (or almost everyone)

A BEAUTIFUL 4 slot 25incher went for 325. ABSOLUTELY awesome cab. A nice 19incher was there with LED's, mem card..etc. Pretty cool.

A dedicated MS3 was there! I was going to grab it, but it was too big for my house. Very close, but i just wussed out.

There had to be at least 6 or 7 neo cabs there, with some conversions.

Prices for stuff were GREAT. I mean INSANE..people were really shocked for what went for what prices, but Baba Borden and some operators were shill bidding and buying back a lot. What didn't get shill bid and bought back was very very good.

I picked up a box of bil validators for $1, A parts cocktail of Space invaders for $65 and a JAMMA cocktail (for mame purposes) for $125.

Pins were insanely high as always.

If anyone else was there, I was there in my Ireland Rugby shirt and I bid on a lot ofthe 25 inch cabs.

Steals of the auction:

$325 for a Dedicated Soul Calibur 25in. (Wincedwhen I passedit up)
$325 for a near perfect 25''4slot
$175 for a centipede cocktail
$625 for a Ms.Pac w/ speedup chip
$25 for a video poker
$35 for a Tourney Solitaire
$350 for a Star wars pin
$1 for a box of bill validators (I won.)
$250 for a Sinistar Standup
$275 for MS3 Dedicated
$175 a piece or less for dedicated Centipede cabs.
$25 for a boxed Skins game kit (complete)

There were many many more that were notable, but thosereally stick out in my mind.

Thanks VanillaThunder for telling me how it went..

My uncle went but I only spoke to him for a minutes today..(though he went late)I really don't think he bought anything within the parts, but he said he picked up two cabs in the quick talk we had and that I was going to be surprised..
I have no clue what they are yet..
With all the money he spends you'd think he'd buy a good fkn cell phone..It's crap..

Neo Geo Cabs..
"same guy bought every one of them"
Ah,,so you ran into the same thing/guy...
Did he have a "big" ring of keys on his side and ran around looking at the the Neo's like a crazy man..?

I wonder if that guys shill bidding...
The guy I saw last time was bidding on every Neo Geo cab..

We have the same taste in what we look for..
You got some excellent deals,Congratulations!!!!!!

Oh,man I would of loved to pick up that Cocktail/s...Sweet,deal man..(nice projects)

I haven't seen a Dedicated MS3 cab since they took it out of the bowling alley.:(

I don't have room for it,but I would of thought about picking that up..(unless you wanted it)..

Bill validators
Yea,last ttime they had a bunch of them..
They all sold for cheap..
Boxes of them for 1-5 dollars.
I honestly don't have any use for them, but damn they look well worth more then a dollar..(it's crazy how cheap they sell for)
I bet they cost quite a penny at happ or..

Ah,ha,,(Dedicated Soul Calibur 25in.)..
Whew,...My uncle would of been on that machine if it was nice..
He wants that machine,it's his favorite game..he would of pushed for this I'd say up to $500.00-$600.00...
(If I told him I'd put it in here/he wants to play it,not store it.)..
That's the deciding factor..I'd have to bring it here..

Whatever he bought today will go in storage, for now...I doubt he bought that machine today..
He would of made sure he called me..to tell me about it..to see if he could bring it here...

If I go next time we have to meet up..
I'd like you to show me who these guys are that shill bid and who Baba Borden is..
How do they get away with that crap...?

Any high priced Merit machines..?..(Most Likely..: )

How about the Slot Machines..?..(cheap/etc..?
I really wanted to pick one up this week to give to my father in law..(Christmas Present)
The Slots they had there last time sold really cheap but were banged up..( I passed)

I never was able to get a good condition Slot Machine at Auction..
At least the ones I was looking for..
One of the reasons I didn't buy my two Slot machines from an auction.

Check this out..VanillaThunder..

I found this on the Internet about the the Woodbridge auction

The Woodbridge New Jersey Auction Results!

Well, here's what I sold...Dragon pin $100 not working, all our videos
worked...here they are and the prices I sold them for: Ms Pacman bootleg $475,
Armour Attack $310, Express Raiders $20, Alpha Mission $60, Mission XXX $20,
Rastan(nice cabinet) $100, Superman $70, Big Event Golf $60, mechanical Bowling
Alley $25. I let ALL of these machines go and did not bid them up (how could I
at those prices!!!) I Purchased AFTER the auction was over 2 that were
buybacks....Snap Jack---rare like new--I paid $300, and a decent Red Alert
(enemy aircraft approaching) for $200...they apparently only reached $100 or so
and were bought back. I have no idea what else was, but when my truck arrived
to pick up our purchases, there were LOTS of games still there at 7pm. I was
very pleased with our other buys...Xmen, NBA Jam, 2 Police Trainers, etc...

Well I picked up a Neo Geo cabinet for cheap...but it doesn't work and I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do with it. I was thinking of turning it into MAME. I'm new to arcades...I built a MAME cabinet and then purchased a Pole Position II that I had to fix. So I went to the auction for more games and picked up this Neo Geo cabinet but it has a broken monitor...tube is busted, and had a note that it had no cartridges. It did power up...the marquee...looked like there are red LEDs in the marquee. I know nothing about Neo Geo machines. ANy advice on what to do with it??? Worth restoring?? Or gut it and MAME it?

I guess it depends what you paid for it. If you want a mame cab, just gut it and sell the parts (email me, I' looking for a four slot board and marquee!). or you could replace that monitor, but that isn't cheap.

I paid $30 for it. I dunno anything about Neo Geo arcade machines...I'm fairly new to arcade collecting in general...only have 2 other games plus a MAME cab that I built from scratch. I wouldn't know a 4 slot board from a 100 slot board (if there's such a thing).
