Hello,

I have bought a US version of ROTD to a member of neo-geo.com forums and there is a little problem: the intros and character selection screen are slow and the game has the typical black bars up and down the screen but the sprites can to put itself raises of black bars :-O and for one second the background covered for black bars appears...

Anyway the game is playable perfectly, the speed in combats is normal... and it´s a great game :-)

Have you listen something about this? it´s strange, because I have bought SNK vs Capcom in neostore.com and no problems, all perfect.

Some idea?

Thanks.

Why not just convert your machine to run in 60hz? Undo the 4 screws underneath your AES,s it is a PAL machine with shielding there is an earth wire connecting the top shield with the main board so just be careful and lay the lid over to one side.
On the top right of the board there is a pair of jumpers that says 'PAL' and there will be a piece of wire joing them together.Either cut this wire or desolder it and your machine is now 60hz.Alternatively you can get a 'kettle switch',these are black plastic flush mounted switches that with a bit of care look almost like an original fitting when placed at the rear of an AES.
Wire it up to the 2 jumper points so you are breaking and making the connection when you move the switch and you can go 50/60hz whenever you like.I think some of the Fatal Fury games are a bit uneasy when in 50hz PAL mode too

It seems easy. Only cut a wire? and pal system will run to 60 hz? :)

Full screen and more speed in games?

On some systems you can do it this way. But on other ones, there arent any jumpers (at least not marked as PAL1/PAL2 and NTSC). I had a system numbered 1044 (or similar, I sold it) and I could not do the mod on it.

Gladly on my new system (serial 35144) these jumpers exist.

Yep, under the feet. Use a screwdriver to carefully lift them up. I think you will have these jumpers.

My AES only have 2 screws, are the other 2 hidden?

Carefully lift up some of the feet and you will find the other 2 screws.
make sure before cutting the wire between the 2 points that you disconnect the power and av leads and switcxh the geo on and off a couple of times leaving the seitch in the on position to get rid of any residual charge.
Any probs and I will try and take a pic of where you need to be on the board .

Hello again,

I have opened another neogeo pal for "60 hz conversion" and it has the wire named "pal 2" (mine was pal 1) and the word "ntsc" alongside also... is the same process? cut the wire named "pal 2"?

Because My friend cut the wire, but he still see a little black bar down (1 cm) is this normal? mine is full screen, no little black bar down...

Thanks.

Greetings.

What you may need to do is connect the NTSC jumpers together.
