MVS linking questions..

Ok..now that I have the second cab I want to do a Cab to Cab link but I have some questions.

I have the cable needed for the link that I will take a picture of and post to be sure it's ok.

Ok..
Questions.

Do the mother boards need to be the same slot count...
I want to do it between the 4 slot mother board and the one slot board.
Do they both need to be US boards with US bios chips or vice versa..or can they be mixed..US/Jap/bios.

Do both League Bowling/Riding Hero etc games need to be from the same country..US/Jap?
Or can I link a Japansese copy of League Bowling/Riding Hero etc to a US copy of the same game.?
What will happen?

Can I link nore then 3 cabs or just two..

Any info/precautions provided is appreciated..

I think I'll tackle this before I attempt the MVS to AES link..

I'm taking a guess but I'd say slot numbers don't matter.

I don't think that BIOS matters.

Cart region, it won't matter, I'm sure.

Unsure about more than 2 cabs.

That's a 1/8" Male-to-Male headphone cable you got there, which the cart needs (in other words you have the right cable).

Someone else help Chris before it turns out I was totally wrong and he fries both his carts and PCBs, I'm making assumptions but I think they're good ones...

That should work. The only thing that might matter is the region the BIOS is running. Jap mode may not link to English mode...but trying it won't hurt anything.

The different slots might matter though...I don't know if the game will maintain the link if one system changes games. If you leave it on that game though, it will probably work.

Just wondering....what is the advantage of having this? Do some games support 4 players? Sorry to barge into your thread, but I figured you would know....since you are doing it, ;)

Thanks DanAdamKOF..

Yup,I won't attempt this until I get some factual info..
Good Call..DanAdamKOF..

I have the means to do the MVS to AES link up too...but I won't chance it..
If this stuff was easy to come by,cheap..then I would of taken the chance already..

Don't worry, it won't damage anything at all. The worst that could happen is it could fail to link when you try it. The Riding Hero cart has a special chip that controls the communication port, so it is expected to handle all of the voltage going across the cable, and won't do anything dangerous.

It might work, as long as it doesn't check the machine mode or anything. You might have to set the MVS for free play though. But again, it won't cause any harm. Just give it a shot. If it doesn't link, or the game crashes, then obviously it doesn't work, but even if it did crash all you have to do is reset it.

The question comes to mind of is this worth it for those games?
And then the fun gamer in me says......why the hell not :D

If you could, would you let me know how it goes and maybe another project will be sitting in the future from me as well.

I hope everything works out!

All I need to do is get a second copy of each or one of the MVS games.
+ I'm still waiting on the 1 slot mother board to come.

When I do,do all this linking I will take pics and post them..
