Hi!

I have Snow Bros and OUTZONE PCB (originals) and when i play them on a TV with my supergun, the picture is Rolling like mad.

but when i play them on my cab, is all OK.

Where is the problem?

Maybe the PSU?

The RGB out?

Thanks in advance,

Max

PS: All my cps2, cps3 and so on boards... play OK in my supergun..

Outzone has a frame frequency or "refresh" rate of 55.16Hz, MVS is 60 Hz (which is conventional for most boardsets). If your TV set has a vertical hold adjustment you should be able to compromise between the two different frequencies, your cab is obviosly set in such a way.

Having said that, Snow Bros runs at 60Hz, I have no expaination there maybe something to do with sync levels ?

The fact is that according to mame Out Zone also runs at 60Hz, which makes sense since they're both running on the same Toaplan hardware...

Thanks you all

In fact, with my supergun I can make to work many boards, of all the Marches and manufacturers, originals and bootlegs... except these two games.

I would not want in future to acquire others boards and to find myself with the same problems.

Does not exist a way in order to fix or to modify my supergun in such way to avoid that the image dances?

or adjust the frequency, because i have a lot of tv but all without the vertical adjustment.

or it exists but it is from making electronically through of the specific commands?

Thanks again you all for the help.

Hitting F11 whilst the game is running in mame reveals that it has a frame rate of 55Hz not 60 as in most Toaplan games.

Try a different TV. Some model TV's (Sony Wega in particular) won't sync to the right refresh rate.

you maybe need a chip

Hi,

Try to had a LM1881 chip, in the video synch line.
Maybe, it'll work, because of the non standard synch signal of the jamma games.

See ya :loco:

Not true about the Snow Brothers and outzone hardware. They are both entirely different architectures. Outzone used the Toaplan set while Snow Brothers is actually using the Kaneko Pandora architecture, aolso found on Hellfire and DJ Boy.

I said, Try..
Cheap compo, but perahps it will only work, with this chip, if you have a rgb pal (50Hz) t.v.

lm1881.gif

Thanks for the tips.

According to this pic, I have to wire:

jamma video synch line (pin "P")----->LM1881 composite video input

and

LM1881 composite video output ----> scart Pin 20???

???

it is right?

or i have to wire even the others lm1881 pins?

Thanks in advance.

yes, exactly.

you don't need the 3 5 and 7 pins.
I just had a 100nF condo. for the supply(p 8 and 4)

like this:

Pin 8 ----> +5V From PSU
Pin 4 ----> Ground (Jamma video ground)
Pin 1 ----> Scart pin 20
Pin 2 ----> Video Sync from jamma

Pin 3 - 5 - 7 ----> nothing

Pin 6 -----> ???

Sorry but i don't understand where put the 100nF condo (capacitor?).

In the +5V line or in the composite video input?

Thanks again

Max

Pins 6, just put the 100nF and 680Kohms (1%) in parrallel. //
and it goes to the ground.
the additional 100nF capa must be near the chip and wired like the power supply, so it means +5V or +12V on pin 8 and ground (0V) on pin 4.
good luck
