I'm in the process of converting a working WWF Superstars cabinet to an MV-1. The WWF is JAMMA , though when I insert the MV-1 into the harness it only spits out a a few stray vertical lines. The red LED on the board lights up, so it does appear to be getting power. I checked the MVS - JAMMA comparison doc on hardMVS and the video locations are the same, so it seems like it should boot right up, no? Tried plugging the WWF board back in after the MV-1, and the WWF board still works fine.

Any ideas? Should I focus on the MV-1 board, or the cabinet wiring? The MV-1 was purchased locally, so I may take it over to the seller and have them test it in their cabinet.

Also, I have a consolized 2 slot that _potentially_ could be used in the cabinet. Would it be safe to plug that in as a test? I'm game but don't want to kill a $500 investment.

Any suggestions welcome!

It'll probably be fine and btw converting a superstars cabinet is all well and good, But *NEVER* let anyone catch you converting a Wrestlefest cabinet :P.

Do you have any other PCB's to test out in your cab?

I would not reccomend trying your 2 slot board in that cab until you fully check the power and make sure its set to the correct voltage.

Have you checked the dipswitches? Make sure that Dip Switch #8 is turned off. That is the pause button, if you have it turned on it will not start up with a game inserted.

Mabey you have a defective MV1?

K, won't throw the consolized 2 slot in just yet :eek_2:

The WWF Superstars PCB still works fine in it, that's the only other PCB I have. All dipswitches on the MV-1 are set to off. The stereo/mono switch is set to mono, the board has a sticker on it that says to use mono when using a JAMMA harness. I've tried reattaching the harness to the board several times to make sure its a good connection, no dice. Cleaned the harness edge connector and the cartridge slot with q-tips and rubbing alcohol, so everything should be making a good connection.

I'll check the voltage tonite...is it possible that it's set for enough to power the WWF PCB and not the MV-1?

Past that, if another JAMMA board works in the cabinet and the MV-1 doesn't the Neo board is toast? Or is there more to it?

Hooking up your monitor to a seperate power source would be a safe way to use your cab along with your consolized unit or your other board.
