Excuse mefor flood the forum, but I just bought amy first AES, and I want to clarify one thing before start to modding it.

Every revision of AES have mono sound output only? I ask this cause every AES mono that I had sawhave 2 RCA outputs (Audio/Video) - but the one that I had bought, a #110000's, have a DIN-7 (I think) like the one in the Sega Genesis.

The RCA stereo jacks you have seen on consoles are aftermarket modifications. The process consists of simply wiring the headphone-jack output to the RCA composite jacks.

Yes, if you want stereo sound from the NEO, but you don't want to spend the money to get it modified, you can simply purchase a y-adapter that plugs into the Headphone jack on the front of the console. Get a y-adaptor that gives you to a/v jacks to use for the left/right, and you can then plug it into any stereo system, or thru your TV if it supports it. This is what I did for awhile until I decided to upgrade to S-Video. The adaptor is only 2-3$ for a gold plated one.

Or, you could grab a nice set of headphones! You can really experience the sound with these, the NEO really loves to show off its audio chip thru a pair of headphones. Total immersion.

The Y-Adaptor will look like this:

It's more expensive than I thought, about $6. Just plug that into the Headphone jack (which is 1/8" standard size), and get some stereo cables to hook up to something, and you are all set.
