I have just finished my supergun project. I wired up two test switches, one for JAMMA the other for MVS. Using the HardMVS jamma/mvs wiring guide ie.JAMMA pin 15 and MVS pin M.

However I find that switching pin 15 ( not M) puts the MVS boards into test mode.

Ive only tried MV1 and 1FS so far, maybe the multi-slots use pin M ?

1 slot MVS's are actual JAMMA and use the standard pins. Multislot systems are "almost JAMMA" and have a few different pins.

I understand the differences regarding mono/stereo sound.
I just wonder what the logic was behind designating a different pin for test on a mvs multi-slot ? Why not keep it as close as possible to sraight jamma.

I really don't know. They could have easily have kept everything normal JAMMA and just used the pins after the D button for select. Even the way they do stereo could have been better. Gauntlet Dark Legacy uses the normal mono connection for left, and the pins after that for the right speaker...it just makes sense to me that way.
