Hey there people,

I was messing around with my test switch and looking at the button response on my 6-slot, and I was horrified to find out that my 2P D button didn't give back a '1' when I pressed it during test mode. I didn't have any games that used it before so I never found that out while playing. Damn.

So my question is: where could the problem be? I'm not a techhead so I don't really know where to start in the mass of wires that is my cab. Is there any way to figure out if the button itself is the problem or if it's the wiring? Any advice would eb greatly appreciated. Thanks!

First off, welcome to the boards! Your problem sounds like a loose wire or a faulty switch. First, open up the control panel, and check for any loose wires. If there arent any loose wires, unplug the 2 wires that lead to the 2P D button. with test mode on, touch the 2 wires together and see if you get a "1" on the screen. If you do, this means that the switch on your button is bad. You can get replacement parts off ebay or from www.happcontrols.com If you do not get a "1" when you touch the wires together, trace the wires back all the way to the motherboard. there should be a broken connection somewhere in the circuit.

Hope this helps

Yeah! problem solved. When I actually found a way to get inside and to the buttons, I examined the D button and found out there was some kind of goo on both sides of the contact strips that get pressed together. Cleaned that off, and it was fully working again. Thanks for the help though!
