I have a 1 slot dedicated cabinet wit ha 19" monitor and when there is no animation on the screen, I can notice that it is shaking slightly...

Is this normal? Or is there a way to fix it?
It is not noticeable when playing but in fixed screens, I can see it.

Any hepl on this would be apreciated.

Thanks

I noticed something similar when I lowered my power supply down to just above 5V..
I raised it while the machine was on very slightly and the screen cleared up.
I took a reading with a meter and it's set at 5.1 and playing clear.

I would take a reading of the power supply voltage going to the board..it may be too low....

Hey don't be ashamed..everybody was new once..I'm still learning this stuff..
If I have to take pictures of what I'm taking about and send them to you I will.

You need to buy a multimeter/Voltage meter or Digi meter..
A meter to measure the voltage coming out of your power supply and going to the board..

They sell them in Radio Shack..
This meter will pay for itself..It's a must for cab owners.

I'd say to raise your power supply up slightly and see what happens..BUT..I'm not sure that's your problem and I'm only comparing it to what was going on in my 4 slot cab.

I could be wrong and I don't want you to blow out your board thus the voltage should be checked before doing this..

My 4 slot has a knob that I can turn to regulate the voltage...But the Tekken doesn't..at least I can't find one..

Could be the vert hold on the monitor slightly off. Depends on the vintage of the monitor, does the cab have a vert hold pot mounted somewhere?

I wonder what the cab looks like..

(1 slot dedicated cabinet with a 19"Monitor)

I'm pretty sure most US Neo Geo Dedicated cabs have a Monitor adjustment panel mounted under the control panel..

I need to find a pic..maybe it'll help him understand what it may look like..

Pic..

Look for something that looks like the Green and White small board with the pots/knobs on it..

I just fooled around on the Vert Hold button (my monitor adjustment buttons are right under my monitor).
And it is perfect now.

Thanks for your help and pics.:D

Good news.

With vertical hold adjustment, if slightly off the picture can have a vertical jitter or bounce before frame rolling occurs.
