I have wanted to collect and play neogeo stuff for a while and need some help getting started. The reason i post it in this section is because i want to build a supergun. It is a lot cheaper from what i hear. I have ps2 sticks already so can i get an adapter to convert them? If someone could send me a link or tell me how i can go about it, i would be very thankful.

check the links section of sgrepository.com

Read the 4 sites and you should have a good idea of what you need to do...

Sg's are very simple machines and take no experiance....

I built my very first SG without USING A MULTI-METER OR A SOLDERING IRON....(tho my life is alot easier now that I Have and use both)

Also there are tons of people here and at the boards of sgrepository to help you....

Lik-Sang Sells a convter to allow PSX contols on a SG or Neo....

To know how to make a supergun, first you need to know how the arcade boards work, and that link has all the info you need for the MVS.

About making superguns, I would suggest these sites:

http://web.njit.edu/~jal0737/
http://dasfool.aroo.tv/Index.html
www.sgrepository.com

About the PS2 controllers, well, it is possible to mod them directly to make them work in a supergun, but as you said, if you make your supergun controller port be the same as the Neo Geo one then you can use the PSX->Neo adapter from www.lik-sang.com for example.

I need to find a complete list of everthing i have to do becasue i am very inexperienced with dealing with electronics. I may be able to ask one of my friends to help me with that though. I like he page that is superguns for dummies but the video portion is not done.. Thanks for you help guys.

all you need is:

Video Encoder(see link above)
Controller (neo geo works fine)
Some buttons and switches
Power Supply
Jamma Harness
2 15 pin D sub connectors
and an arcade board
Cast to house everything in...
Get some wire.
Speaker
Arcade npard

THe only other thing you need is an imagination to figure out how to put this stuff together.

Also need help finding a good site or person for a mvs( would like a 2 port but a one is cool as long it has the contoller ports)
Thanks again guys, as soon as i can collect as the info i need i will start collectin the parts.

The ebay one is already wired......

All you have to do is plug it in....... If you use a PCB without the ports on-board you will have to get those terminal pins and put them in....

I bet if you ask the dude selling it to, He can insert wires into the harness for the fourth buttons and for a select switch.

But the package is well worth it...
