Please help me guys. I have just opened my first MVS cart as i am tryin to determine whether my Puzzle Bobble is a boot. I am unsure but can you tell me what exactly are Eproms ( what do they look like ) and is this a main characteristic of a boot ?

Secondly the cart inside was filthy with dirt. How is the best method for cleaning the inside cart case and boards ?

Thanks

eproms look like normal chips but have like a little window in the middle this is so the data can be erasedvia light, if you cart has this then i recommend taping over the chips with some ducktape to stop any light getting in (just in case)

i wouldnt recommend cleaning the pcb with cloth, static can damage them.'

I just blow the cart out with compressed air (or an air compressor) and call it good.

An industrial washing machine is best, one that can take the toughest stains out of hospital sheets.

take your cart to bits and then throw it in the washer, put a handfull of nuts, bolts and housebricks in and turn it on.Make sure you put it on the hottest setting and the fastest spin.

The best detergent to use is a mix of turpentine, creosote and bitchumen.

!0 minutes later they will look a right treat.

Or you could just get some electrical contact cleaner for the boards and gently clean the cases with a damp cloth.
