Hi! Thanks in advance for all your insights.

:help:

I have recently purchased an OLD Supergun from a friend, and it came with an SF2:CE PCB board. however, it did not come with the Dip sheet settings, so I am wondering if there is any online resource where I can check what the switches do?

Also, I am looking to buy a joystick for the Supergun - I know that the neo stick works on the set, but I need the 2 additional buttons to play the Capcom games. Will using a PS -> Neo converter work? Ie, will the extra 2 buttons be enabled if I use this converter to plugin my PS sticks?

Once again, your help is much appreciated!!!

get your dip settings there.....

As far as the joystick goes... I don't think that is the way to go.... I don't think it would even work....

Your best bet is to build your own stick or find someone on the board that can build one for you......

Of course I don't have an idea of how your gun works, what kind of harness you use or the pinouts of your gun So I can't give you more info.....

You need to post much more info about your supergun and its controller ports for us to help you... It depends on how it is wired and how does the kick harness work.

I can guarantee that if you use the PSX->Neo adapter, provided that it works, you WON'T have all 6 buttons in the SF2 game.

That's a Hong Kong made supergun, like the ones Winston Goh used to sell...

Unfortunately, a pic is not enough, as I would need to know how it is internally wired... I assume it follows the Neo Geo pin-out, so regular Neo Geo controllers should work, with the D and Select buttons wired to the correct JAMMA pins. If the +5V line is connected in pin 8 of the controller port, then the PSX->Neo adapters should work.

About 6 buttons games... Is there any other connector in the supergun? The boards that use 6 buttons like the SF2 have a connector for the 3 extra buttons somewhere. Then you should connect them to that other connector in the supergun.
If you don't have any extra connector, the easiest way to solve this would be to bridge the extra connector in the board to the D and Select pins in the JAMMA connector of the board. That way the D and select button in your Neo Geo controller would work as 2 of the 3 extra buttons.

Notice that it is all assumptions, it depends on how is your supergun internally wired.

Read this for more info about extra buttons in arcade games:

Hello Amano,

Yes, it follows the neo pinout - I can use the neo stick to play SF2, and 5 buttons work (including the select button as the Light Punch so I have to play the game like a Piano). The Start button functions as, well, the Start button.

There is another pin connector with the Jamma harness, it sticks out of the mess of wires and I have to plug it into the SF2 PCB separately. I assume that this is the kick harness?

Is this enough to tell if the PSX -> Neo adaptor will work? Unfortunately I know nuts about internal wiring and stuff!!

Also one more thing,

is it possible to get stereo from my AES by getting a headphone -> RCA converter? what's the difference between this audio output (if possible) and the stereo in the modded Neos?

Does any of the buttons work as a kick button? Yes, I guess that other connector you mention is the kick harness.

About the PSX->Neo adaptor, it will work if your supergun also has +5V wired to pin 8 of the controller port. You don't need this to use the old-style AES stick, but it is mandatory for CD pads, new-style sticks and that PSX->Neo adaptor. However, I warn you that the PSX pad will only give you as much buttons as the Neo stick, that is A,B,C,D in the 4 face PSX buttons, plus select and start. The L, R buttons are used for autofire and stuff.

About the AES question, it's better if you make a search or post a new thread. I know nothing about AES.
