It's loose because a small plastic ring that holds the stick tight broke in it, all the wires are in perfect shape. I bought it used in Japan 3 years ago and it was like this to begin with, I should have a bought a brand new one since I only saved about 15 bucks. The looseness can be temporarily remedied with a rubber band, I found a rubber band within the unit after I bought it. The rubber band will eventually fall off though. I bet someone can make their own plastic ring to replace the original but I'm not going to try. Anyway, I sold my VOOT so I'm not going to use these unless I repurchase the game. I don't know how much shipping would be to Canada but if you are still interested, I'd consider finding out.
