i'm about to purchase an AES, but i don't know what kind of cables come standart with the Japanese system. I only have an a/v connection and a PAL television. will everything work perfect on this?

You get an AV cable that gives mono sound.If you have a PAL TV I assume you will have a scart socket on the back of it? If so just get hold of an RGB lead for it as then you will ge tthe best possible picture from it.
The AES RGB lead is exactly the same as the one that can be used with a megadrive 1.Check out here http://www.ravengames.co.uk/ they sell the standard rgb cables for £10 or the one with the stereo connctors for £13.
