from what i have seen, most of the time, yes you can plug a pc into a hdtv with a dvi input. just have to remember what resolutions the tv is capable of, and do not go beyond that.

my tv has vga in (for 480p) and can only go to 800x600 60hz.

your better off getting a crt, the flat screens always blur, no matter how good they are they will always blur when something fast moves on screen

So true, either CRT or a projector (yes shameless plug) and you will be better off. LCD monitors don't refresh quick enough and plasma has serious burn in issues on top of refresh.

yeah those plasmas suck, i don't know why people think they are so good!, i'd buy a 40' crt over a 40' plasma/lcd any day. it makes me wonder why they are so popular i guess its because they are small and look cooler.

The image qualty kicks ass...just make sure you don't keep it paused too long or you will see that kickass image when its off too.

Actually, the 17" LCD I have at home has a 16ms refresh; fast enough for ZERO blur at 62.5 fps. :)

Still, the vast majority are currently 20, 25, or even 30ms, which sucks.

PC exclusive monitors have a higher refresh than the ones with built in tuners.

The LCD technology is about to be introduced to higher refresh rates and no more dead pixels but at a much higher cost.

So would getting a 32 inch computer monitor work for my tv viewing needs and my computer/gaming needs. I wanted to have PIP, so I could cruise the net and watch tv, or just multi task. My house has WAY TOO MANY tvs and I wanted to eliminate some space. We have a tv in 1)my room, 2)parents,3) kitchen 4)computer room PLUS I won a 20 inch TV at work.

my family just got a sony hdtv. the picture is clear as fuck while playing pc games on it is great(shuttle sv-24):buttrock:, but playing 2d games such as bangi-o and aes games look like bullshit. PIP kicks ass- on one side u can be on the pc while another side u can whach tv and play xbox or somethin. but the thing is 175 pounds, beware if it falls down run for ur life im not joking. there is also a non hd sony going around with a bigger screen for a cheaper price.
