Every time i try to get in i get this

Database error: Invalid SQL: SELECT room FROM c_users WHERE
username='GENOCIDECUTTER'94' LIMIT 1
MySQL error: 1064 (You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the
manual
that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to
use
near '94' LIMIT 1' at line 1)
Session halted

I emailed Shawn about this ages ago and he said

You need to be using IE 6 and seems to be buggy under windows 98.

Sincerely,
Shawn

Fair enough i thought, and left it at that until recently. I've tried getting in on various different computers, runnig from windows 98, 2000me and XP, and each time i get the same thing, yet when i tried getting into chat using the same computers but with a friens account (i had permission, so there!) I got in perfectly, no trouble what so ever.

Conclusion: chat discriminates against apostraphes. (a wild speculation I know)

No mods are going to look at this thread because the title is pushy. This is a suggestions forum, not orders. Change the title to something like "Problem with the chat, need someone to fix it" or something like that.

You could always get ICQ and go to #Neo-Geo I think, too...

Definately you should edit the title. I guess the easisest solution would be having a mod editing your username and remove the ' .

Oh, I looked at this thread alright.....

We discriminate against more than just people with apostrophes in their names!

But seriously, ain't nuthin' I can do and not many of the mods can either. Problem is with your username and a PC. Try a Mac with IE or Safari. Shawn and maybe Mouse Master are the 2 who may be able to help you.

That is, if you ask nicely.

Yeah, of course the chat discriminates you with your apostrophe in your nick.

Why don't you add a slash, several dots and a couple of backslashes to your name? Would make emailing and any other internet acess/method of communication so much easier for you.

...or just read the error message, the solution to your problem is right there in front of you.
