MV-1 Question

I have a MV-1 Board and I am wondering what the Windowed IC under the slot is?

I thought it might be the bios, but have since realised the bios is further forward.

The bios is the chip with the white label on it. The bios may be an eprom (windowed chip) on older boards. Anyway the board is not supposed to have any other windowed chips.

The bios has circuit board reference SP-1, what reference does the eprom you mention have ? I dont have the MV-1 handy at the moment to check it out.

It is next to the chip there is a label, SFIX

the system fix rom is not an eprom as standard. seems like there may have been a repair done and the original rom image copied to your SFIX eprom.
Does it look like the chip has been replaced ?

The SFIX does have a sort of round print on it but it's not a window and it's not an eprom.
