I like the first one better, I dig the anime style more.

While Shinkiro's art represents a great time in history [what i refer to as the neolithic period] I never really liked it much. It's just too boring. Same face on every person. Snooooze.

So, yeah I like falcoon's art. It's a change

Although I like both of the artist's work, I have to agree with Kid Aphex. It's definitely nice to see something new.

the falcoon art is much better in my opinion. seems to be fully packed with action and looks really like the style for a fighting game.

Could Shinkiro at least draw OTHER characters instead?

I mean I've already seen Iori, Ryu, Ken, Mai, Chun Li in "SNK" style...

It's time for the new characters like Shiki, Zero, Tessa, Genjuro, etc to be in the artwork with teh "SNK" style... -.-;;

yea I was thinking the same thing, since we see his Capcom stuff mostly now.

I like the 1st one a whole lot, but as a poster to be framed and hung id go with Shinkiros

Why the hell did us MVS/AES users get these kinds of extras too?

Oh I prefer the SNK side.

While some may complain that Shinkiro's art is redundant... I argue the point that Falcoon's stuff looks no different from the blitzkreig of Anime that's all over now. *Not saying his artwork doesn't rock, because it does... I'm just saying when I see poster #1 I think... "The Anime treatment to get all the Johnny-Come-Latelys jizzin' in their pants." When I look at poster #2 I think... "Psuedo realistic and collage work always conveys the bigger picture."

I like Shinkirou's work here a lot more (I also think this is his first SNK work since he left the company for Capcom). Granted the faces look a little similar, but everything looks a lot more colorful and generally well drawn. Falcoon's work, which is normally a lot better IMO, looks rather bland (too much red) and confusing to me.

So this round goes to Shinkirou. ;)

Agree. Everyone looks the same. Falcoon is the man, however.

You've gotta ask, though; how the hell do these guys get so good? We're talking mindblowingly good artwork for both posters. Gimme. Now.

I like both styles, but the layout of the second just doesnt work.
I would have rather had a scene being played out like in the first one than a poorly assembled collage of pictures.

I'd rather have this poster on my wall, the other poster does not look good at all.:make_fac:

Does anyone else find it funny that this time around the SNK style art is the cartoony one and the Capcom style is the realistic one? ;)

h...
i ve been good lately.
havent spoke out of turn or anything.
so i ll be polite again.
but i dont like falcoons work for KOF.
it works as a style.
but for KOF?
not in my opinion.
and as hard as i will try not to call his work crapanime.
and being restrained in my love for shinikiro's work
and only say that all the naysayers that have complaints
about everyones faces looking the same:
his work has in my opinion dramatically evolved and
that bitch simply does not work any more.
imo his work was amazing back in the days of old and now is even better.
art is hugely subjective and although i myself love abstract art
and that use of abstraction in form and color that is often displayed in
"anime" i hardly favor it for this.
i could always play guilty gear if i wanted to play a cartoon.
on the other hand as i said before.
falcoons art with terry v ken.
its nice fan art.
and as always, love shinkiro's work with his poster.
theyre nice on both counts.

BTW, my opinion on both artworks.

I love them both^^

Falcoon's one is more appropriate to hang on the wall me thinks...just has the whole svc battle to it... ;)

Mai and Chun Li looks great in the second poster and Iori's just steaming with segziness~~~ *explodes*

I've always liked Shinkiro's artworks somehow too...but variations please >_<
like I've said before. I was hoping to see the other characters instead of those common bunch... :\

Falcoon vs. Shinkiro:

Movement > Stiffness
Personality > Everyone looking the same
Good Art < Excelent Art

So, even though Shinkiro draws better, Falcoon wins the round. I've never been a Shinkiro fan, and I've always liked Falcoon's work. Although, IMHO, Hiroaki is still > both of them...

Shinkiro is the man!!!!

The reason why I keep buying SNK game series like AOF/KOF besides excellent gameplay is art style.

I love both artists right here but Shinkiro wins;)

YES! After two years of Shinkirou-less SNK artwork, the one who started it all is back, and better than ever! Don't get me wrong, Falcoon's "action shot" poster's awesome, but Shinkirou's "masterpiece" poster just edges it out. I had this old saying that "you can't spell SNK without Shinkirou", and that poster was all the proof I needed. Welcome back, Shinkirou (even if it's only for this one poster)!

Now, all we need is a group shot of the lesser-known SvC characters (Kasumi, Shiki, Genjuro, Athena, Tabasa, Zero, and too many others) by Hiroaki (a.k.a. the successor to Shinkirou's throne), and we'll have ourselves a trifecta.
