Bios modding a US AES...

What happens when you mod a US AES? Does the system default to the japanese territory if you don't bother entering the dip settings?

I'm looking out for a nicely boxed US AES again, although this time I'm thinking of the BIOS chip. If it does default I might as well just opt for a Japanese system, easier to find in the long run.

I like my english title screens that's all. I'm a bit fussy that way.
