How about changing the forum colors slightly ?

I have just started using an Ibook and the colours on the Forum are nearly identical for the thread title text and the background it sits on, making it nearly impossible to read (using safari browser).
I know I can change the appearance but as soon as I get into a section it reverts to the forum standard again, maybe make the text white like it is in the threads themselves.

Bumpo, I looked at the site on my G5 and you can't read anything unless you roll over the text. :(

Bump - I read the forums on my Mac using Safari all the time, and the coloring is frustrating. Text in threads themselves is fine and shows up as white, but the thread titles show up as dark purple/blue on black, which is nearly impossible to read. Maybe a slight change in font color would correct this problem for us Mac users?

please don't anyone tell us that as Mac users we are a minority either, as being Neo users makes us all a minority ;)

It might be subtly brighter, it's hard for me to tell, but using Safari, it still shows up as blue on purple, blue on black when looking at the thread titles. I wonder if it's possible to make thread titles show up as a lighter color entirely? If doing this would screw the colors up for everyone else though, it's not a problem - it's still readable.

I find it near impossible to read, it is a sort of electric blue on a pc, but on the mac it is a lighter shade of the background and shades of blue are the most difficult colour for the human eye to distinguish.

Maybe better on a CRT but on my ibook I am really struggling.

however gives me loads to catch up on when I get into work ;)

You're right - it's a little bit better on a CRT monitor, but on my PowerBook, it's still as hard to read as ever.

Weirdly enough, when I use IE to try viewing the forums, the text is fine: a sort of electric light blue, which is very readable and has good contrast to the background. It's only in using Safari that the text defaults to dark, dark blue on purple/black. Is this fixable? Or are we Safari users out of luck on this one?

I have to highlight the page to read the threads when I use Safari. I don't know why Neo-Geo.com is the only place on the web I have any problems on whatsoever. Maybe blue on blue was never that great of an idea anyway. Still, I don't know whether it'd be best to go complain to Apple for using different colors or what.

This is also a problem (below). Notice that the hover event works since its in a hex triplet.

A:link, A:visited, A:active {
COLOR: 80,FF,F;
}

It should be easy enough to fix it. The blue links are very frustating.

Solution:

The problem is that if you use a value of :

80,FF, F

Safari treats it as:

#000080

But IE treats it as:

#080FFF

Now, don't go blaming the mac - Flash on the PC will treat that code the same way Safari will.

Just change the CSS to read #080FFF and all will be right with the world.

IE on the PC looks good,

Safari on the Mac looks good.

For the first time ever, this site looks the same on the PC and my Mac.

Thanks EW, that was some quick service.

Good call, Briggs! I knew it didn't make sense for Safari to be the sole culprit considering that this was the ONLY site which appeared differently on my Mac.

18 posts in a Mac thread before someone makes a "Max sux0rz" comment.

I think thats some kind of a record.

How about a shade of grey for the links? So our eyes don't feel like they were bombarded with gamma rays.

It's now the same color as the PC, so I'd just leave it.

I appreciate the Mods fixing it ~ Thanks guys.

The War Room is still hard to read, but everything else is 100% better.

@EvilWasabi - serious thanks for making this change, man. I've been reading this forum on Safari ever since the beta came out, and this is the first time I've really been able to read it at home at my leisure. Much appreciated, sir!
