Hi,

Just got SVC, popped in a few times, and it SOUNDS horrible!! A few others seem to be having the same problem, so I don't know what is causing it? I bought mine from the NeoStore. It is the English Version, and I am running it on a Japanese AES. All of my other games sound perfectly fine.

If it is my Neo that needs a good cleaning, how do I go about doing that? What should I use on it to clean the cartridge and the system? Rubbing alcohol is a bad idea, right? Corrodes the contacts faster or something?

Anyway, if someone can help, please let me know as I am getting frustrated!!!

lemonflavzilla's cart had messed up sound the first time, he just cleaned the game contacts with a dry q-tip real quick, and it worked fine.

Isopropyl alcohol(pretty close to rubbing alcohol) is actually a recommended cleaner. Give it a shot.

Can you guys elaborate on the sound problems???

Mine had what sounded like a few drum beats that seemed out of sync with the music. Does that sound common?

My problem was solved by removing and reinserting the cart a few times...I was worried that my Neo's sound Chip had died on me for a while there...

I will still clean my cartridge slot out though cause it could probably use it...certainly won't hurt it any.

As for the drumbeats being out of sync, that's how it sounded on mine too, Lee. It also was horribly staticy and there were some repeating voices that should not have been in the Intro and character select screen. Sounded like someone was saying "Quick Fight" over and over again. Maybe I heard it wrong, but that's what it sounded like!

are these just bootleg problems or are you guys talking about something else? I heard there were sound problems with the bootleg, but the the actual MVS kit still hasn't been released, right?

Problems with brand new neo games seems to be common when you play them the first time. I try to remember but this kind of things didn't appears with the first games on neo geo.

Robert is right. Very common. Just jam it in there a bunch of times to rough up the contacts and I bet you are fine. This happened to all my new carts that I recall buying lately.

Mine had the same problem.

I ended up using a dental tool (kind of like a short pipe cleaner on the end of a plastic stick) dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean off the gunk.

I keep my system slots immaculate, so I knew it was the game.
