This seems like the place to be,

Is it worth getting a uk console?, or should i opt for a Jap one

For example does this uk console run slower than its jap counterpart, do any of the games run with borders or anything?

Any advice on which to get would be cool

thanks

50hz pal systems suck. they display borders and the games run quite a bit slower.
i myself own a 60hz ngh and i added a 50hz/60hz switch, but i always use the 60hz mode.

i'd suggest to get a us system with a rgb cable and have the debug bios installed. no need for a japanese system since the debug will boot in japanese mode and you could also use the us bios, if you'd make it switchable ...

that said ... i just figured out, how to add a switch that no one would ever recognize, if wouldn't show them where to find it. :)

Falk,

You always come up with the great ideas...SNK should have had you working for them. I'm looking forward to your next set of pics in the SGR.

Let me guess...on the frame that holds the slot lids, so that it's hidden by the lids themselves?:smirk:

I don't have an AES anymore to check that so I'm relying on my memory...so that's the place you thought of or it's somewhere else?

They take about 20 minutes to install. The hardest part is cutting pin 2.
If you take a couple of minutes to flux every pin(on the BIOS chip and the DEBUG BIOS)and then tinning every one of them. Its then just a matter of piggybacking the newchip onto the old one and it only takes a second to solder each pin down. Then solder on the resistor and the small piece of wire needed and thats it,job done.
You will then be able to play your games in either jap or us mode and get to pick from red blood(jap) or green/white(US).
You can get a UK 50hz geo and its only a matter of breaking the trace between the 2 jumper points(you can fit a switch here so you can toggle from 50hz to 60 if you wished, there are some jap/us games that may flicker in 50hz and there are some UK ones that may do the same in 60hz.
Hope this helps m8.
