anyone know if it's possible to make a consolized MVS system with an AES shell? for instance, can i somehow replace the AES board with an MVS board, widen the cart slot opening on the shell, and have it play perfectly? if so, would it cost more to do or just about the same price as buying a consolized MVS system?

The idea is unfeasible for a number of reasons:

- MVS carts don't fit the AES slot and granted, a widened slot would look like shit.

- The only MVS board that could be used is the MV-1C (it's the only top-loading version) but when in an AES shell its slot won't be in the same positon as the AES shell slot...

- It'll be more than a normal consolized board because you have to sac a home system and they're never cheap...

It just doesn't make sense, as I guess you wouldn't be able to take profit of any internal component in the AES, and I assure you that an AES shell is more expensive and much less suitable than any other possible shell.

Actually, I think NGT used a Saturn shell for a consolizad MV1-C, you might look for the pics, the result was pretty nice. So this could be a good idea if you really need your consolized MVS to look like an actual console. Of course in an xbox shell you would have more than enough room... :eek_2:

NGT used a Saturn AND a DreamCast shells for SuperGuns. They look pretty cool and he changed the front pannel so you can use Neo-Geo Controllers.

The best "shell" conversion I ever saw was a guy who made a computer out of an old NES. He put a DVD drive and when you opened the cartrageslot the tray came out.

If I find the link again I'll post it
