Anyone ever made there own control panel for a Neo Cab? I just got a Neo 18 and I want to make my own panel for it. The original panel measures 16 1/4" by 4 1/4" and is made of sheet metal. Does anyone sell pre-fab type panels? Or do I need to have some one cut me a piece of sheet metal and cut the holes?

It would probably be more work trying to find a panel you could just bolt up and go with vs building youre own. This would be rather easy and fun project to mess with :)

Right off the top of my head I dont know of anyone who sells prefab panels designed for cabinets ,usually you end up with a whole cab like a Dynamo vs just individual parts. Check this link out ... it may have some info of interest to you :D

Bye the way , is that Alex's { Fox1 } cab that he sold recently ? the one that had the Mah-Jong panel on it ?

Lol looks like Chris beat me to the question :D

Yes this is Fox1's cab. What a trip to pick it up left at 8:00am got home same day at 8:00pm. Barely fit in my 240 with the help Alex's father. Anyway, I was given another panel with the cab that seems it was meant for it. But the button layout is something like this . . but on a bit of an angle.

I want to try and see if I can fit 4 across like most neo cabs. I figure finding the sheet metal won't be a problem, but I dont have a drill or a die that can punch the holes for the buttons. Maybe a local hardware shop can take care of that for me.

Also does anyone have any idea how to release the knob or the whole stick on joystick assembly? I want to remove the joystics from the panel but I can't since the knob won't pass throught the hole.

I used to have 1971 240 with 3, 40mm Webbers on it :D fun cars .My brother knows a guy down near LA who has one that is close to 600hp ,its nuts . Actually there are a few videos of that car floating around the net just look for "darius 240Z" in google.

Ok back on topic

With most joysticks you need to look on the bottom of them under the panel and there is one of those C shaped push on type holders on the bottom end of the joystick shaft , cant think of what it is actually called :D Anyway you remove that and the stick will slide up through the top of the panel ,then you just unbolt the base that holds th seitches , just reverse the process when putting it back

As for making holes in youre new panel ,just go to some hardware store and buy the appropriate sized hole saw { the kind that you use with a drill } a center punch should be used so you dont have problems with the hole saw going all over the place while making the holes.

Pretty simple to do and none of the stuff you need should cost very much.
