I had the same prob when I got my MV1FZ working last night-the pot was turned right down so I wasn't getting any output.I turned it up a teeny bit and everything was sweet!!

Be careful not to turn it up too much or your in danger of buggering your TV:(

You guys might want to put an attenuation circuit inline with the audio outputs from your MVS boards. That way you can convert the amplified audio from the board to a more hi-fi (or tv) friendly line level.

We talked about it here @ SGR.

Basically its a couple resistors in line that drop the volume across the audio down 20 dB's. That way you don't have to worry about burning up your speakers or amplifiers.

It shouldn't cost you folks more than some pocket change to pick up a couple resistors ( one 1k ohm and a 10k ohm) and it will protect your equipment.

The audio output on most arcade boards is already amplified and designed to directly drive speakers that are in the Cab. However, at home you will most likely run the audio into your TV or your hi-fi which already has its own built in amps. Your TV or hi-fi is designed to use a 2volt peak to peak audio input, where as the amped sound from the board (since its amplified) is much, much higher.

This is why everyone is saying to turn the audio way down on your MVS board. But if you put in attenuation circuit in, it drops the volume ouput of the board down to closely match what comes out of other audio devices (cd players and other consoles).

If you were to crank the volume up on your MVS board, most likely your tv speakers would distort badly and then probably fry.
