When I got my 2 Slot MVS I didn't hesatate because I got a great price on it. I didn't want the cab was in because I heard of SuperGuns and how I can play them on a television, rather then a big bulkey arcade cab.

I know after reading HardMVS that the 2,4 and 6 slots use special MVS connections rather then normal JAMMA like the others, so some superguns might not work. I wanted to get a SuperNova to play both Neo-Geo and CPS2 games, but I think MAS charges extra for hookups.

I was thinking of getting a dedicated MVS SuperNova from Mas with the Neo-Geo arcade sticks. Do they make it specalized for MVS configured boards? Do they also charge more because it's not a regular JAMMA? I'd like to get somthing to work good for under 350 dollars.

If there's any other methods or different pre-made guns let me know. I wanted to get it consolorized by one of the members on the board but I figured, it'd be easier to pay 300 for the SuperNova and get it just for my MVS and nothing else.

And my TV does have S-Video for the best picture.

Thanks for the help.

I'm not extremely knowledgeable about this kind of stuff, but I have a MAS supernova and I've used a 1 and a 4 slot on it without any problems. To the best of my knowledge my supernova hasn't had anything added on to it nor has it been modified. I believe all Neo MVS mobos use the JAMMA connection, someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Yep should work fine. You need to tell them if you do get one that it's for a Neo Geo, so that they wire the 4th button, regular Jamma harness is only 3 buttons. The Supernova I have has the standard Capcom button layout kind of sucks for Neo, but works nonetheless. It also has a kick harness for the cps1 games, and all 6 buttons are wired.

So mine works for standard Jammas
Works for Neo Geo pcbs with the 4th button wired up.
Works for CPS games, all 6 buttons w/kickharness.
(But it's a CPS1 kick harness, on mine at least, I would need to build an adpater or totally rewire, to CPSII. They use a larger harness)

You might could get the MAS Neo Geo sticks with a Supernova for a dedicated Neo Geo version, but then when you do go CPS you're gonna need new sticks.

As far as the Jamma vs MVS connections, I'm not totally sure what that's refering to, maybe for stereo output? But I just recently got a MV2F it's listed as being a MVS harness, but works fine on my supernova.

I heard a normal super-nova un modded will play SNK games just the button layout is

A B C
_ _ D

Which is allright because I can change it. I heard from a friend if you use an MVS style hookup it won't play in stereo, because normal JAMMA is in MONO, but what about CPS2's Q Sound?

That was the main problem I saw, was is it going to play in stereo or not, because you lose more then half the sound effects when you play a game in MONO.

I'd like it if I could play both MVS games, then change the controller layout, then be able to just hook all the CPS2 stuff up to play Capcom games.

Also, how long does it take for them to get them to send it with a Kick Harness and everything? I'd like to get it for christmas.

Thanks for all the help!

My Supernova plays the MVS in stereo through the harness. The sound test in the hardware test menu can confirm this. Since you have a two slot, you could buy regular neo sticks and use them with the joystick ports on the PCB.

Here is the pinout out for the supernova.

This is the pinout for a 4 slot MVS.
